Well you see future plans are to shorten the frame and make into a short bed and to convert to 5 lug with a mild drop ;)

454 or 350??

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

looking at it as i have to rebuild either one i use and the 454 is a bunch more to build and i could build a stout 350 for what the 454 will cost to build stock... thats all.

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Anyone have any info on shortening a frame on a 88-98? Found one here on the site but where they cut it, it looks as if it raises the rear of truck when your done.

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

ten -15 years ago a kid i knew built his own1/2 ton using a extended cab long box frame he slid the rear cab mounts back and cut them to fit was the only mod he had to do he said. he built 3/4 a couple of years later and he discovered the rear mounts from a short box extended cab fit perfectly

So, he made a shortbed crew from a king cab longbed?

Scott's truck is already a crew cab longbed.

scotts62 12-04-2009 08:40 AM

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Yeah i may have to cut under the cab and shorten the rear of frame too, under the cab would suck but oh well...

scotts62 12-04-2009 08:14 PM

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

Got the crew out to parents shop to get away from the theivin mofos! and got the rear end yanked out and some measuring done so i can get a game plan on where in going to cut the frame :chevy:

yeah that seems to be the way most people are doing it......

eke82 12-05-2009 12:30 AM

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

yes that is correct. He built them before chevy offered them from the factory in 99

highperf4x4 12-05-2009 01:02 AM

Re: My 93 Crewcab Build

So then why didn't Mr Scott find a king cab longbed instead?

He's been spending too much time around them warp drives..............
