update. Found a white hood, grill emblem and upper plastic valance. Lil by lil puttin it back together. Next on list is a regular chrome rear bumper,oem door mirrors and side door and bed trim. Does anyone know the original tire size on a 2001 silverado single cab shortbed? is it 235/75? I have 255/70 on them right now but I dont like wide tires. Thinkin 235/70/16 because of clearance and also right now my truck rubs when i turn sharp.

Correct 235/75 is standard tire size (on 6" rim) 255/70 came as an option normally on the aluminum cast wheels(7").

3/4 drop with smaller front tire to give a bit of rake

275/60/17 on the rear and 235/60/17 on the front
i would do a 315/35/20, but you will likely need a 10" wide wheel for that........you will need at least a 9-9.5 to go any larger than what you have and look right......just my opinion |

http://133.JPGhttp://032jpgHere it is with 275-45r20's all the way around with it lowered I cannot run a bigger tire on front but I might try a taller tire on the rear for the same look you have. The front is lowered with springs I like the look but the ride is not so good, but with my trailer on the back bumper the ride is great. I think I need to do more camping.

Mine again. Bought it lowered last Nov. It rides okay until I hit bumps and then the differenatial hits bed and tires rub. Needs to be airbagged so I can have best of both worlds. I love this truck though. Hope to have it forever.

Before - 3" fabtech spindles and 2" rear blocks (lift) After - 2/4 Maxtrac spindles in front and hangers / shackles in the rear. Wheels - 2008 Chevy 18" with 265/60/18 Hancook |

Had front of my truck redone. WHoever owned it one time or another did a terrible job. Got it brought up an inch. Now it is a 4/7 drop. I like it alot.

Thanks. I've actually considered removing the factory trim and replacing the mirrors with black front instead of the chrome front.

My latest project 2001 GMC sierra SLE 4.8 auto
bone stock 1 owner truck when purchased cam, stall and bolt on modifications ls1 out of a 2000 camaro sitting on the stand for the truck DJM 5/6 drop Centerline sniper 20 x 8.5 245/45/20 in front 275/40 in rear planning on keeping this one. |
