Hello, This this an old thread but I wanted to see if you had installed these seats yet? I just bought the same year seats and the mounting holes on the middle seat and inside rails of the outer seats are about 2" forward of the mounting support of the cab? Did you find that?

How well did the seat tracks line up to the cab for you? I wish I would have gotten the center seat with the fold down console.

Love the look of these.

hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone has installed a bench from a '00 Silverado into their truck and still has the fuel tank behind the seat? If so, is there still plenty of leg room? I'm 5'8 so I don't need a lot of room, but I am planning on running a floor shifter. I'm wondering because my brothers 2000 Silverado just got wrecked and I have the opportunity to take what I want off of it. Any thoughts or comments would be great!

This thread has reminded me to never ever get rid of my stock bench seat. I can't stand modern seats in an old truck.

Don't have a lot of pics, but here is what I have. This seat is way more comfortable than in other truck seat I have sat in and maybe this is because when it came time to buy a diesel truck I wanted a Cummins engine and my seat is now used to the seat. You do sit a few inches taller than the stock seat, I am 5'-9" and have several inches from the ceiling--if you are tall, better measure or cut the seat frame down.

I did the same with the Dodge seats, I have a write up on the board somewhere. Love the seats, ride quality and comfort. They look great in the truck and my back enjoys them on long trips.

I don't know how I feel about this.

When I was building RAT, The Boss and I went to a Members place and bought the bench seat
that had just been redone and recovered. 1971 GMC bench seat for $160.

Then, just before I started the last stages of the interior, one my pals asked if I wanted a
"return" of some leather Suburban seats that I had sold him for a
c-note.

I put the buckets in...along with a Manny, Moe, and Jack $60 console. Comfortable, electric,
and adjustable in every way, it seems.

Then, after paint I decided to try out the bench seat.

I like the way it looks. I can easily carry three people...which happens almost never...
...it's comfortable to sit on. But the stock seats sit high and close.

I gave the leather seats back...so, I guess it's the bench stocker for the near future.

Today, I almost finished shortening the steering column. Nice to have two people for that job.
If I had another person, it would have only taken one day..or less.

With just me? I'll be on the on the third day half-day tomorrow.
Or whenever I recover.

I saw that thread (the tan leather ones, right?) and immediately started searching for a set. Found some pretty reasonably, but just the gray fabric style and in need of major tlc. Now I'm in line at a local custom shop to have my cab extended enough to be able to use 'em proper!

Smitty, I was just about to post the link to that thread (I saved it) when I scrolled down a bit more and saw that you had done it.

I don't suppose you'd know if those black rubber "accordion" frame covers are available new, would you?

I'll have to look into that to see if that part is out there. Mine are still holding up strong.

Leo:

I've been running the same 60/40 seats as you have in my 68 stepside but without cutting them down. I never have liked how they stick up above the back window sill a couple inches and, even with a tilt column, there's not much leg room under the steering wheel. I'm about due for reupholstering my seats this winter and while they're out, I'd like to cut the frames down. How did you determine how much to cut off your mounts and, as a result, did you run into any problems with the operation of your seats?

Center seat out of a 06 tahoe. Kept the factory tahoe fame just modified it so it still folds up so I can get to the tank. And it bolts in the factory mounting in the floor.

Thought I would share my seats. 200? Dodge Ram seats pulled from the pick a part. I removed the head rests and covered them in black leather. I stitched a flame pattern in them and did a foam overlay on the center console/jump seat. Not really sure if I will use the jump seat or build a console. Here they are waiting for me to finish the truck.

Not usually into the custom stitching , but these are very nice! kind of a modern buddy bucket. Thanks for sharing , got to look at these dodges a little closer now. Any pictures of the mounting?

Still have the 71 Custom Deluxe original. It needs to be replaced. I'd like something close to original, but a seat cover seems to be one of those items you get some flexibility. Not like you can purchase an original anyway.

My Vermillion 67 had a bench but the bottom was worn. I found a set of Procar seats on Kijiji and bought the proper mounting frame from Summitt.

My blue 67CST came with buddies but the previous owner didn't like them and sold them. I bought a set of buddies locally and I will have them refurbished.

Picked up a nice set of seats off Craigs list. Went to put them in and found that the center console extends back slightly when you flip it down so it hits the gas tank before it hardly moves. Have to try again.

This is the back seat out of a 02 chevy crew cab truck. It's going to take a bit of fab to make it fit I could have spread the brackets an bolted it down but it sits way to high for my liking so custom brackets it is, I'm mocking it up in my parts truck.

Have the original Green Plaid Highlander bench in my truck. I picked up set of buckets and console ( the white with grey insert in the pics ) and am going to get the green plaid material and have it stitched into the buckets. Then will have original buckets with parchment coloured console and Highlander Green Plaid in my truck. I know, only the Blazers/Jimmys came with the Highlander plaid buckets.
