Re: I am from the Desert
Nice! What harness did you go with? Everything looks so nice under your dash. I need to get under mine at some point and sort it out as well. It has become a mess during its lifetime.

Re: I am from the Desert
Your hood hinges look amazing to me! You're making me want to get everything needed to start powder coating my own stuff... seriously. I mean, I'd love to have the $700. billet hood hinges like the next guy, but I'm way too cheap for that and I don't play the lottery. What equipment are you using? any recommendations on brand of powder? On a personal note, I can't believe how much work you get done. You may feel old but I'd bet a hundred bucks you outwork most dudes half your age. :metal:

Re: I am from the Desert
Wow...Such beautiful colors! Looks better than factory new. Tell me about your glass please, did you apply tint? I bought a new pair of vent window assemblies that have a tint to them but I don't think they are that dark.

Re: I am from the Desert

I bought all new clear glass so I could tint it slightly darker than they offer and now I can't remember but I think it was a 50 % tint,,, thanks Im very happy with them ... |

Re: I am from the Desert
Very nice! I admire your attention to detail and patience to keep at it with the little stuff. I was just fumbling around with those same pieces yesterday on mine and I thought, ah these are clean enough, they don't need to be perfect! I keep telling myself that this first go-round is a proof of concept build and I will pull it all back apart and really make it nice, but I'm not sure it will ever happen. I'm looking forward to seeing how yours comes together right the first time.

Re: I am from the Desert
well I actually was kind of daily driving this for some years after converting from IL6 30T to the 327 4 speed so you could say that was my proof of concept and if you are passionate which I can see in your two builds memories and family you will get after it Im sure ...for the love of these trucks we can't help ourselves im getting anxious to having this one on the road thank you for the kind comments

this was originally manual MC installed the master and booster next will start to bleed
|
Re: I am from the Desert
Looks really good. Where did you buy your booster and MC? I'm still on the fence whether I'm going to use the new one I bought since the bracket holds it so far away from the firewall. If you don't mind will you please post a pic of the side view of your brake booster and master? I'd like to see how far yours extends from the firewall.

here is the view for Cornerstone, Brian and some measurements for you ....I bought this CPP setup slightly used in great condition a few years ago from another board member anticipating this conversion looking back what great value considering todays pricing :) note: my steering column is not tucked up into the dash yet more work to do in there ....:)

Re: I am from the Desert
Thanks a lot Jesse! I think I have the same basic design as yours. I've decided to just go with what I've got already, and jack with it after it's on the road if I'm not happy with the performance. Truth is, I get to watching all these super nice builds, many of which are using hydro boost brakes, and I start convincing myself I'd better do it "right" the first time. Vacuum booster assisted brakes are also tried and true and for the love of Pete I need to quit changing things up and just finish it. Thanks man.
