Finally got my Firebird shell up on the lift. Can now start rebuilding the 455 motor.

I've listed some extra parts I'm selling in the Parts Board section, check them out!

I'm going to tear it down but I'll take it to a machine shop to get it magfluxed and machined flat if it needs it. It came out of a old sedan that wasn't beat so I'm expecting it to hardly need anything at all.

I'm going to do the work on the heads to clean them up and I'll do most of the putting together.

Should be a torque monster when it's done, am definitely going to put in frame extensions to stiffen the body up as well as some extra bulk in the cross members.

It will have a full Ridetech set-up plus some other body mods that I'm planning. Going with 18 / 19 wheels on it too and minitubs. Will be one unique bird!

yeah, minimal mods = 500+lbs of torque
if you need any pointers on it, call Jim Lehart at centralvirginiamachine.com really cool guy, he's the man for pontiac's and will give you plenty of advice, even if you don't purchase anything from him... he's building my 461

Love the truck! What dash bezel did you use?

Re: "The Ayatollah of Rusty Hole'a 1987 SWB 6.0 4L80E

It's from LMC. It's decent for what I needed bc I had to drill holes in it for my warning lights.

I had to trim my bezel to fit the Dash direct dash pad correctly, so now I need to cover it up with a billet bezel...thanks for the info!

Got some paint protection put on the truck today. I think I was definitely low class in the joint compared to the other cars getting done.

That is a nice car, but I would take yours over it, any day of the week.

I bet the maintenance costs are a little on the high side for a ride like that.

Nice job on the truck. Any modifications to it now that it has been on the road for 3 years ?

Not really, bought a few 69 Camaros I'm building at the moment and driving my 99 WS6 and 13 ZL1 mostly during the summers,

I have a few things on the list to fix this winter on the truck so hopefully will be using it more next summer!

I am really impressed with what you did with that rust bucket of a truck. I would have never guessed it would turn out this nice.
Where I live, we have cars and trucks from the 50's that are still rust free. I would never even looked at that truck, you have more vision than I do.

BTW, my 84 K30 is all original with 17K miles on it and not a flake of rust anywhere, truly rust free. I paid a lot for it a $4200.
