I fueled up with Chevron 94 yesterday. I tune on 91, but run 94 for a bit more safety. We have no E85 here. 94 was $2.049/L. $7.76CDN a gallon, or $5.72US a gallon.
You can see why I daily a Hyundai Accent now, eh? This is an LQ4, pushing a brick. A brick in the shape of a parachute. A 2003 Silverado with a 6.0 is rated at 10mpg city, 11mpg highway. I'm doing REALLY good, now that I see that. |

I mean considering the extra Hp you have vs a stock silverado I'd say your winning but I'm not sure the weight difference and brickness difference lol. I have an LS swap that I had started gathering parts for years ago that I hope actually increases MPG but I dunno when I'll ever get on it again. 4.8 and 5spd into a 97 reg cab toyota tacoma in place of its 2.7L that was somehow managing 13mpg last time it ran.

I finally got around to doing a video on "decapping" injectors.
This is a process of removing a "diffuser" on the end of most LS injectors, and turns your 24lb injector into roughly a 75lb injector. ECU tuning required. I'm running decapped injectors in my '61, and they work fine. |

Truck is at home in the house garage, up on jack stands in anticipation of dropping the fuel tank.
Not tomorrow though - I have physio after work, and while I usually have dreams of coming home and working on stuff, I'm usually lucky if I can even tie my shoes after the IMS and elecro-shock. |

The fuel pump relay was clicking, and I tried bypassing the relay and powering the pump directly, but it wasn't working. I think it's the connection inside the tank. I remember building it going "this seems rinky-dink."

Old and busted "hot" connection for the fuel pump (I'm using a Walbro 450):

The tank came out really easy - I designed it to be serviceable (and it worked!).
The straps (two nuts), the fill/vent hoses (hoseclamps), and the feed/return lines (two AN fittings). Took maybe 30 minutes. The bed on the other hand, that would take a LOT longer. |

Added a relay to turn on the cooling fan during AC. It's using the Trinary pressure switch off the accumulator. Not sure I'm totally happy with the result, but we will see.
