Re: My long term 57 project

Yep Dan, I have 2 PB frames sitting in my garage now. Nate made me a deal to good to pass up on the newest version, so I jumped on it!

My current plan will be to put the newest 57 on the first frame and then my current one will go on version 2.

And yes I'm still driving my first 57 as much as I can! But no movement on the Cameo conversion right now.

I'll be selling the frame that's under the one I just bought as soon as I can. Its got a Camaro clip under it that looks to be done right, so if anyone wants to come get it for cheap just let me know!

I've told myself that I'm really going to try and pick up the pace on this one, hope to be driving it next summer and hopefully sell it for a small profit!

Thanks JJ,
Are you thinking when all is said and done you'll have a show truck and a daily driver level truck?

So you are actually going to have two original 57 frames with camaro clips when you get through swapping the sheet metal. If I were just starting on my truck I'd probably put in a bid for the one that is in your truck, knowing who did the frame clip. Lucky find on the new truck, BTW. It looks like it is solid and straight.

Very nice score on the new 57 C/L find. I thought I had C/L on lock down, in our neck of the woods! Must of been asleep at the wheel again.
Looks very solid and kind of straight. Super jealous!

Yep, I was lucky it didn't get sold before I could get to it! It is in very good shape with a lot of spare parts, basically everything except the engine and trans!

Plan to sell the frame its sitting on, let me know if you are interested!

Just read the full thread from start to finish and i'm blown away with the work you have put into that first truck.

And i'm more than a bit jealous of the availability of parts you have over there, awesome job and finish on the 57 and loving that cab interior.

Looking forward to seeing both trucks sitting on those new chassis, the PB stuff is top notch. I follow their FB page and the fabrication is just next level.

Calum

Anyone know where's JJ?

I did a search and his user name, "Chuck Driver" comes up as an invalid user. What gives?

Hey guys, I'm still here just haven't posted in a long time. G&R's57GMC asked where I was on my other build thread, so I thought I would look and see if this one was still active. I appreciate your guys concern!!

Like many of us life sometimes throws you are curve ball you were not expecting and not ready to deal with. For me it was unexpectedly losing my wife in Feb 2019. My kids and I have been making adjustments and finding our new norm. Its a slow day to day process but we are strong together and will be fine in the end.

Still driving the wheels off of this truck and hope to get to work on the other soon. I did put another set of wheels and tires on it last year, other than that haven't done anything else to it.

Thanks again for your concern and will be around more often, thanks!

Hay JJ

I'm glad your OK and welcome back .

I'm sorry about your wife . I lost mine suddenly in Oct . 2015 two weeks before our 20th anniversary .

I know what you're feeling . In my case I decided life is to short to mope around so I took care of business and by December I was looking for a new wife . I found her in January 2016 and we married in January 2017 . We have been together since day one .

I did lose a "friend" who didn't like the way I grieved . Who made him the grief police ? We all grieve differently .

I wish you well .
