Oh well, got it done, now to modify it, wait for the replacement rubber pads to arrive, and then put it back together!

How is yours?

I gotta blast, prime and paint the inner hood support(frame) before I start mocking the hood back up.I took a little break on the burb this week:smoke: Should hit it hard this weekend.

Alright we spent two long days on the burb. Changed out a rusted panel on drivers side and finish the skinning on the pass door. That 1/8'' gap around the door didn't happen by accident neither. There was alot of welding, grinding pushing, pulling and cussing:lol: but I'm very happy with the end result.

So you used panel bond to install the door skins?

That gap looks awesome.....there's just something about nice even gaps all around.

Yea Captain, 3M door skinning adhesive around the edges and welded across the top. It came out great and real solid. I'm seriously considering skinning the drivers door now.

Where did you get the door skin from and what do you think of the quality of it? Looks really nice.

I got it from Top Banana,it's a keyparts pc.I think it's a well pressed piece.I sprayed 3 layers of undercoat before I installed it and it is very solid.
Thanks,
Nobby

Re: 66 suburban build

Quick question guys, when i got my burb the front cap wasn't on so I'm not sure on something. Since the burb has a rubber mount on the core support bracket and the truck don't. Does the core bolt directly to the bracket or is there a bushing that goes between?

It definitely gets a bushing of some sort; it's in the body bushing kits.

Nobby could you take a picture of where the pinch weld ends at the front of the rear wheelwell? Im rebuilding a 66 panel that was missing the bottom 3 inches of the body. I got a wheel well repair panel for a pickup but I have to fabricate the rest. Also if you could include a picture of how the 1/4 panel ends by the rear doors. Thanks. Iwsh I was making progress as fast as you. Your burb is looking good. Gord

Thanks for all the encouragement guys! It slowed down a little bit lately but it's about to pick up again. I'll take pics as requested soon. Bodys coming off this weekend so I can start on frame and start smoothing firewall and repair windshield overhang. Heres a couple pics, repaired upper drivers jam, floor work and skinning drivers door.
Later,
Nobby

Sweet Burb. I would love to have one some day. I've kinda slowed down on 67-72's and would like to get into 60-66 trucks, etc, plus I can't haul the whole family around at the car shows unless they are in the bed.
