Well I didn't get a chance to get it all back together last night to get some final pics of it. I'll do that Friday morning. I think the aluminum will look good on it. I was worried about it being to bright/shiny. After painting it though I think it will look ok. We'll see when I get it put together. |
Re: John's Project
Does your truck have power locks and windows?
|
Re: John's Project
Yes sir it does. Passenger window motor I think is going out, but the driver's side seems to have been replaced.

Here ya go Menace. Sorry for the delay. I'm telling you a job really gets in the way of my fun time!
Attachment 470987 Attachment 470988 It turned out really nice. I'm glad I stole your idea Menace and went with the black tank and the silver straps. Hey Blake don't hate the player hate the game! :aiiet: :haha: Just kidding man. Don't be discouraged by how fast some get their pages, but enjoy all the pages of reading! |
Re: John's Project

Yeah that's the funny thing about the underside of the truck. Like yours we put so much time and effort into the frame, and painting it, and keeping an attention to detail just to cover it up. I think it was Joe that said somewhere that his wife asked him why he was worried about the exhaust pipe and muffler placement. He just said it may not make a difference to you, but to guys like me we look under the trucks just as much as we look at the exterior. It's really a funny thing about us car/truck guys. We are just as happy laying on the ground looking at someones "gas tank" as we are talking about someone's paint job on same truck. It's a sickness that I would never look for a cure for!!!
Thanks for the idea Menace. I hope it turned out like you were thinking it would, and again sorry for stealing your idea! :) Here ya go Joe. Ask and ye shall receive! Which is surprising with me. I'm not always on my A game like that! Attachment 471137 |
Re: John's Project
the tank cam out great and it looks awsome.
|
Re: John's Project
Thanks man I appreciate it.
Joe also needs to get a big pat on the back too. Provided me a nice donor tank to replace my leaky one! |
Re: John's Project
What do you want for the bumper?
|
Re: John's Project
It's yours. Consider it your payment for the tank!
|
Re: John's Project
That's a pretty sweet deal. I like that bumper. Surprised you didn't put it on your other truck.
|
Re: John's Project
On my 03? I don't think it would look that good on there. I like the one that's on it.
|
Re: John's Project
Oh I was thinking you had another older truck in the 90s. Must be thinking of someone else. Yeah it'd look weird on an 03 lol.
|
Re: John's Project
cool, thanks man!!
|
Re: John's Project
No problem man, that's what we all do is help each other out.
