Man oh man, Killer how the heck are you sleeping at night, I would be so jazzed about having a drivetrain like that in my truck I'd be thinking about it constantly. Very, Very cool, 68short step may only be 23, but from what I can see he's a frickin genius, just the wiring alone would scare the crap out of me. Great work you guys, we're all drooling out here.:metal:

Hey don so is it correct to say that you won't be sending the wiring harness off anywhere to be fitted???

Hey 68shortstep- any tips on wiring? Where'd you get your pinouts? Are you going to have to extend anything? Looks like you're gonna run the ECM in the Cab, correct? Deleting anything?

Killer- Looks good, man. Hope to see it on the local streets soon...

Sorry for the hijack -Chris

correct, i told myself when i did it to mine, "man its worth paying someone 500-800 to get a harness re-worked".. but i stuck with it. now things are going super-smooth ,on yours, and its not as time consumeing/ frustrating..
also on yours you have more wires then mine, since you have more sensors and a DOD setup..

yes wires are gonna be extended and shortened...im getting the pins from speartech, thought my pins were the same for this computer, but they're not.. the computer is gonna be mounted to the firewall hidden behind the intake.. i'll be deleting the EVAP, some stuff for the a/c, VATS, emission stuff, etc.... ill also be adding wires, fuses, and relays to control everything...

Displacement on demand. Are you gonna try to keep it functional?

68- Where did you get all your info on what to keep and what to trash? I'm looking at all this spaghetti and need to trim the fat.

Now that's the sh!t...... Classic wrapper w/the latest in tech. That's exactly why I want to do this swap. I want the latest powertrain w/o the hassles that big brother brings w/it.

EFI efficiency & DOD to make it even better on the highway. I hope it's possible to keep only the functions you want from the 'puter.

Re: Killers 5.3L install

yea we're keepin the DOD functional... and doing away with all the wires/crap we're not using...
gringo-----

It's the SA-1000 unit from Current Performance (Jared is the guy you want to talk to there). Rob, I have one downstairs if you wanna check it out when you come up, assuming you get time to stop by. It's a nice little setup.

68ss - question - why are you mounting the box there? Just curious. I was planning on installing mine in the place of the old fusebox and using that as the new fusebox :D If your logic is solid, I might follow in your footsteps.

"in place of your old fuse block"?, are you talking about your stock glass style fuse block under the dash?
anyhoooo.. the reason i installed it there was its hidden, yet accessable..and it controls the engine, trans, sensors, fuel pump, a/c clutch, starter, etc... all of this is under the hood and it keeps things nice and clean by not haveing to have a bulkhead connection on the firewall to connect things from the inside the cab to the outside of the cab.. IMO thats how GM would of done it back in "the day" if thay had that technology, and they do mount the engine controls in the ehgine compartment now days...

Re: Killers 5.3L install

I'm confused (that happens a lot :D). I thought you were using the factory engine harness or was that just on yours?
