It was a million degrees this weekend but was able to make some good progress.

Harness is done so I guess it was time to drop this engine in its final resting place.

Man B. You're not not playing around. Coming along pretty quik, and looking real good. Motivating me to put more time into mine.

I almost made it to first start up this weekend to hear it run. But then I'll need to fab some exhaust before I drive it.

Need to tighten up all the fuel line fittings, adjust the shift linkage, and get a lower radiator hose (the one I got doesn't work)

I got everything checked off my list, so Saturday morning I decided to turn the key to see what would happened and it fired right up!!

Since I was running on open headers I decided not to run it too long. Then got inspired to start making the exhaust so I can drive this thing.

Went with something a little different and made a 2 to 1 Y pipe and will run one muffler down the passenger side all out of 3" tube. I want to get over the rear axle but there isn't much room back there.

This piece will bring me about 4" past the trailing arm crossmember.

Back together and on the road.

All the gauges work. Had to do the tach mod with a resistor to get the tach to move. Calibrated the Autometer speedometer.

Only drove it 7.5 miles but I'll work on topping off all the fluids and putting some more miles on it!!!

:metal::metal::metal:

Got any pics of that exhaust? I'm interested to see how that y-pipe turned out.

I like the new exhaust setup and sound. Not sure if its the LS motor, the y-pipe, or the Borla muffler I used...but it sounds good.

As you'll see from the pic below, I painted my truck metallic grey....but I never painted the bottom of the truck floor. I like to thank the prior owner for that lovely color choice.

I see you have some ECE parts. What drop do you have? It looks good

Re: 1972 C10 ... SoCal BBC/TH400

I do have a few ECE parts on the truck.

However the current drop is from the previous owner., I was told they are Hotchkis springs but that is unconfirmed. The current setup uses a 3 or 4" drop spring in the front and causes a bump steer issue.

I am ordering some new ECE drop spindles and springs to redo the drop with their 3/5 package and will also rebuild the front end at the same time. There are a lot of cracked/dried boots and rod ends.

Then I will be researching rear gears and a posi/LSD!

Well it looks like I haven't posted in a few years.....

The LS swap is complete. Just enjoying driving the truck.

Found a 1988 Chevy truck bench seat and put a new cover on it. For all you tall guys....best money spent here!

Thanks for the update, looking fantastic.

How did that DBW pedal pair up with the seat? Reason I ask is I had the same pedal paired with a Snowden seat and sat spread eagle in the cab. Finally cut back the pedals and it’s much nicer now.

I’m up and running as well, we’ll have to meet up sometime
