Here's the website: http://www.caffeineandoctane.com It's the first Sunday of every month. People start rolling in as early as 6am but you can usually still get a decent space as late as 7:30. It's a good mix of all things automotive and there always seems to be new stuff each month. I'd definitely give it a try, especially when spring comes around.

Finally got my wheels in (well, 3 of them!). On the hunt for a 4th since AR discontinued them this year. Proving to be a challenge but hoping one will turn up. I think they're going to look awesome against the white and a little altitude adjustment. Still buying up parts to complete the suspension.

Anyway here they are 20/22 Daytonas...

Me too! If I remember correctly the front is 5 and rear is 5.5. I have wider rearend so I'm not sure if I'll need a spacer or not. Likely going 4/5 drop so I shouldn't have an issue with rubbing, etc.

Is this the one you're looking for? It's one of two options for this size wheel. This one has offset of 5mm and 4.95 inches backspacing. The other is 30 mm offset and 5.93 inches backspacing.

Site says its available...

American Racing Daytona VN801 20x8.5 5x5 Gray

That's it! Called them yesterday and they don't have it. Spent at least an hour calling internet retailers and couldn't nail one down. I bought the last 20 AR had in warehouse but they're hoping another will be returned from a retailer.

Really appreciate your effort.

Thanks, aggie91. That's who I bought these from. He is a great guy and is working hard to locate the other 20. Hoping he's successful!

In a sudden turn of events, a random ebay seller I messaged last night had one tucked away in his warehouse. He just sent me pictures of it and I can confirm i'm no longer on the hunt for the other 20x8.5. Thanks to all who were helping look and offering suggestions.

Me too! They've already got it shipped and sent me tracking so that's a good sign.

Sweet, that's great news! Your initial issue is the reason I'm holding off on ordering two at a time on the wheels I want. I'm afraid they might stop making them before I get the complete set. Glad it worked out for you.

If I had to do it over, I'd definitely hold out. Thankfully it worked out after some serious tenacity. I almost went so many different ways but I had to exhaust every other option on getting the exact wheel I needed.

Re: "Chalky White" 71 stepper

Picked Chalky up this afternoon from my buddy Ben's shop after what turned into bending new tranny cooler lines, a new radiator, distributor rebuild, and a tune-up. First stop: The gas station. Then my wife got home and we went for a cruise. He's still running a bit rough but after sitting several years, I think I'm still burning out the gunk. Was already running better after about an hour.

Oh, and I went to town on the rear passenger fender that had been spray painted with a mix of red and silver in different places. A little graffiti remover and elbow grease and all the silver is off and the red is coming, too. Some pretty cool patina/primer under there. Much better than odd spray paint. Small steps. Pics of that tomorrow.

Anyway, here's a few pics from the inaugural cruise.

I love to see them early on and then follow along to see it get even better .Watching everyones build going on here is what kept me going on mine in the bodyshop these almost three years .I almost gave up and considered selling mine off in pieces but I told the guy I bought it from that I would make him proud of his old truck that he really didnt want to sell. I told him if he sold it to me I promised him it would be done nice in his honor as he had owned it for 30 years. He would not sell it to anyone local to him as he didnt want to see it destroyed .When it comes home I will have to make a trip to western North Carolina to let him take it for a ride and show him I kept my word .Sorry to hijack your thread but everyone on here building an old truck kept me going forward including you ,so thankyou all.
