It's been a while since I've posted. We moved into a new house with a 4+ garage so no more storage unit issues for me! In addition to the vintage air this year, I was able to get new carpet installed. Feels much much cleaner now and smells a lot better too. Separately just had my shop do a little work to help with a weird hot weather hesitation, and when I went to pick it up they had it parked next to their newest build - 69 K20 big block currently listed on eBay. Incredible build.

Updated engine bay after AC and some fuel upgrades and carb spacer.

Engine looks great,... but if that's a glass fuel filter I would take that off right now.
Those things are fire traps.

Hmm. I believe it is. My shop installed it. I’ll ask them about it.

Ordered up an all metal filter. My shop did say that they’ll put those on initially when using an old gas tank.

Good idea.
I like putting the fuel filter between the tank and the fuel pump. Then run a nice clean hose or steel line up to the carb. Harder to change? Yes. But looks cleaner under the hood.

I think that’s how it used to be looking back at older pictures. The recent changes were to help diagnose some high temperature throttle hesitation.

Wow, complete custom! One thing is bothering me. No pics of the factory headliner. This site really likes pictures and I happen to love the Cheyenne and Supers because of the headliner.

Had the truck in the shop several weeks ago. Got the filter swapped out and all the suspension retorqued. Left and the engine would randomly shut off. Replaced ignition, module, and distributor and it's running better than ever! I'm guessing that was the issue all along and not a fuel issue. I've been able to run in 90 degree temps with the AC blasting and I'm only hitting 195 degrees.

Sorry, just seeing this! SPID is in the first post of this thread with code 1483. That should mean 516 orange. I’ve seen this as Tangier or Omaha Orange. I prefer it to the hugger orange.

Awesome thanks! I agree, Hugger Orange is a bit more on the red side.

Well, the shop sent the rear end out for the 3.73 posi and soda blasting. In the interim they got started on the engine dress up. Unfortunately, or fortunately, when they pulled the valve covers the oil looked like chocolate milk. Coolant levels were also low. So, I decided to pull the trigger on a new engine and ordered the zz502 - 508hp and 580tq! For now my only update is an empty engine bay!

Now need to return all the SBC goodies and figure out headers, etc for the 502.

Random question, does anyone know what those numbers on the firewall mean? In particular the "CE10934"? I have the same numbers on my firewall!

I stole this explanation from somewhere. Probably this site.

My truck got a new lift yesterday! I'm mostly excited to just get it up and away from door dings, kid bikes, and basketballs!

Re: 71 Cheyenne LWB Build (RideTech Air and zz502)

I haven't updated much recently. Finally decided to have someone take a look at my brakes and he suggested hydroboost. Absolutely amazing. An extreme difference is an understatement! Really transformed the truck. Also, I was running a 3200-3500 stall before. Dropped in a Hughes 2500. Much better for the street and the truck seems to put down the power even more. Lastly, I've been having some tire rub with the trailing arms/panhard bar when turning left. Put in some longer studs and spacers. Truck can really rip now!
