looking good

The best bet would be to relocate the lines away from potential heat sources and pinch points. There's plenty of room to run them across the back of the shock crossmember, well away from the exhaust system. Personally I would plumb it all with hard line and use a short flexible line from the frame rail to the calipers.

Well the truck is coming along. I took it to the alignment shop last week. Everything came out good. The only thing is the electric fan stopped working. I called the vendor and it had been too long to replace it under warranty even though it only been run less that a half dozen times. I purchased it last fall, but just getting the truck running the last month or so. No problem ordered a new one should be in today. Took a couple pictures while it was out.

LOVE that color.
a manual override switch is a good idea for any electric fan, you likely already have one, but if the actual fan quits it doesn't do any good. a max temp idiot light may save your engine though.
forward motion is a great thing. soon you will be done

Thanks Guys...Going to try and get it finished up mechanically in the next few months and put the bed back on. I'm ready to roll for the summer then into paint and body this fall and winter.

Plugging along with the Truck. Been working long hours and started 7 days a week for the next couple months. I have a few picture of the A/C going in.

pretty shiny.
keep plugging away but remember to SLEEEEEP after those long days.
I work shift so I know you gotta sleep on those long hauls or the body will let you know. take it easy and work safe man. mine is 2-10 hr days followed up with 2-14 hr nights then 4 off. 48 hr week. from experience I know if you ignore the sleep routine you end up with a lot of bandaids to remind you to get some shut eye.

Thanks dsraven...I do about two refinery outages a year and they normally last an average of 50 days each. Been at it for 30 years now so nothing new for me. Take care guys and I will check in from time to time until this outage is done.

What gauge cluster are you using? Looks really clean. Are you satisfied with how it is performing? Great build.

Re: 1955 2nd Series Build Start

Thanks...I love the stance too. I'm just getting in broke in only 60 miles so far, but a fun time. It's performing good I'm going to check the timing this weekend and put some more miles on her. For the gauges Classic Instruments from summit.

I thought I would throw up some more pictures. I got the radio installed last week. Got some billet hood hinges I will try to get those in this weekend. Really enjoying being able to drive the truck.

Are you starting a new built that doesn't look like the same truck?
What front IFS are you using?

talmadgemoss 09-11-2019 10:56 AM

Re: 1955 2nd Series Build Start

Yes same truck new cab and sheet metal. Other was held together with rust under the paint. I'm running a checkered racing IFS.

New Aftermarket. I got it through Tuckers. It arrive safe it was packaged really well. They did a good job with the cab. I had them smooth the firewall too.

Re: 1955 2nd Series Build Start

I know they are not cheap but it sure would be nice to have a good cab to start with. in the end I used the roof and A & B pillars from mine (or so it seems), haha

looks good. keep the pics coming. I would be interested to see how the doors fit. it came with doors, right?
