Re: How many 4wd Suburban guys do we have?

ok - quick story -

When I worked on these trucks at the GM Desert Proving Ground, I had this boss who was a little, short, ruddy Irishman. Turns out his wife was short, too (she was 5' x 5' - lol).

He drove these company trucks home every night, and she was so short she couldn't get up in them. So they made her a little step stool - but then the problem was she couldn't retrieve the stool, so they tied a rope to it. She would set the stool by the truck and pitch the rope up on the seat, climb aboard and then hoist the stool up into the truck. Problem solved. :metal:

So I was telling my young son about this whole operation and he got this deep, thoughtful look and said "...yep - that's a long ways up for 'fat ole Barb'".

ACK!

Of course, we scolded him soundly and told him never to say that again to anyone!!

Careful cvalcore, you'll be tightening the coupler bolts in your column in no time. Ask me how I know :D

Good looking trucks. We've had two, a 2wd 96 GMC and a 2005 Z71 Chevy, both white and purdy. My oldest son wants a square burb, he's 11 now, I'm hoping the idea holds.

Slowly but surely finishing up the lost interest in my 6.0 swap hoping to take it mudding soon sometimes I wish the 350 never left as it served more than faithfully

Time and money, always seems I have plenty of one and none of the other. I will be able to do engine and interior projects on both trucks this year but no paint jobs are planned.

What was the lift and the tire size on the old silver and blue one? Looks like you put a set of F-250 aluminum wheels on it.

Hey jsfucttruck what wheels are on the silver looking suburban along with step bar I've never seen that looks great might have to steal the idea im tired of jumping up in my truck and then listening to everybody else complain as well lol

as far as my progress on the 6.0 swap finally got the gas tank only to realize i forgot the o-ring for the sending unit so back down it will come this weekend then gotta get one fuel line and get it wired in and tear the crap out of it hopefully within 2 months

To be honest I think that the wheels are a cheap China made junk.. There is no brand name anywhere on them. They just have the weight rating and "Made In China" stamped on the inside. I took my family down to KOH this year, and I swear I bent a wheel on the smallest bump at speed.. I took them to a place to see if they could fix the slight misalignment, and they wouldn't even touch them. Now I can't find a replacement(I'm not looking to hard though). I really like the Dick Cepek DC2's..

The running boards are SmittyBuilt

Ignore the white wheel....it's the spare. Had the normal tire on there bulge on me. Getting new tires on either Monday or Tuesday.
Also....the white around the rear windows is where I haven't finished painting yet. Rather than mask of the windows, and weatherstripping I am going to wait until I replace the weatherstripping and window motors. Did the fronts this way, and it made it so much simpler.
