Such a sweet collection. And to gather all those up in Europe is quite an accomplishment. I know what he likes! And I see pure dedication in those pictures.

I've seen some great collection gathered by people in The Netherlands. My nrother-in-law was in a band (The Nighthawks) that would perform over there. The band leader is an Indian motorcycle nut (vintage Harley, Crocker...) and he gave me pictures of one fellow's collection ... along with his Bugattis!

I just spotted a single axle 68-72 tractor on a back country road while running my son's friend home yesterday. I never saw before with the leaves gone. It might be another friend of my son's dad's place. I'll have to ask. It sits in front of a short van body trailer.

I bought this a little over a year ago. Might be a future project or parts or send it down the road.

This is a cool thread!

I’m slowly collecting parts for my tool truck project.
I’ve been driving around a long bed crew cab ram on 37’s with a 6x12 cargo trailer that I drastically
Overloaded. I’ve since installed a 7k# axle with brakes which is nice.

I see my buddies riding their cool bikes to
Their sales jobs, or fancy cars to their skilled trades jobs.
I want something cool to drive too.
I’m a one man show general contractor so I have enough tools for all aspects of building.
The tool truck would serve the purpose.
I got me a late 50’s gmc LCF and just picked up a Chevy p30 rolling chassis last weekend.
I plan on running milled 22.5” wheels with 22” tires. Bagged and a beverage delivery body on the back. I want the front two sections to have roll up doors still, but I’ve grown accustomed to the ramp door on the trailer so
I want to close off the sides on the two end units of the box, and put a ramp door on the far back behind the axle. This will provide a space for rolling tools. Tile saws. Table saws. And other large items.

I was thinking of a duramax and Allison to keep
It all in the same family,
But I’ve owned cummins my whole driving life and know them pretty well.
I don’t expect a lot of cab room. But as long as I heave 2 seats, I’ll be happy.
Bye bye firewall.

I like your plan. I'm a one man show contractor too these days. I need a dream truck as well. You are making a great choice making the rear a large open area for the stationary tools to load in and out on a ramp door... and/or materials. How many loose tools, hardware, and such does a guy need to carry anyway?

And in the medium-up truck world, I see no family. well, except engines from another automaker. But Cummins ain't Dodge the way I see it. Duramaxes are cool and great and all, but a more expensive proposition all around, in my opinion. Plenty of all Chevy guys running the Cummins. Plenty of Ford, Dodge, and IH trucks came out of the factory running GM's Detroit Diesel, too
