Had I only had my camera.... of course, I probably wouldn't have been allowed to leave without deleting the pics. :D

They are out there, but until the "sheds" open, they are tough to locate. You have a real nice fleet started.

Love the stance very close to mine, any scrub line issues though? As for the engine and tranny I say keep the six but swap the pg for a turbo 350 IIRC they are the same length so you wont need a new drivshaft (cant remember if its the same as a long or short tailshaft th350).

Same as a short shaft th-350.
I've thought of keeping the 292,... I just don't like the sound of a 6 banger.
I really want an LS style engine,... but I can't fit that in the budget unless I sell something.

Rear drop is close with the 1.5" blocks. But it will be ok. I may need some bigger rims.

Yeah i ran the 250 in mine for a year or so, no power at all. But they look cool all dressed up and a 292 with some go fast parts might not be bad.

Im running 6'' coils in the back with a cnotch and thinkin about some blocks but worried the shock brackets will be below the rim.

Mine with 1.5" blocks and 6" springs. (15" wheels also)

Do you have square mirrors on the door? Hard to tell from pic. I know they're not the sports.
I'm thinking about going back to the original style with the round mirror, and chrome it all.:metal: What a pain though.

In that last pic, looks like a ton of room before it goes into the notch. Is it just sitting, or did you jack it to get pic?

Charlie, I do know that Keith is running the original round mirrors w/ red arms on his '69. I think your Blazer would look good running the round mirrors.

Charlie,... that picture was taken when I first set the truck on it's wheels.
The springs have settled a little since then. Plus I haven't driven it much.

Personally I like the sport mirrors better. But I had to go with the stock painted arms and round head mirrors. (the painted black version)
And I'm not a big fan out of the all chrome version of this mirror. (jmo,... since they never came that way from the factory)
But I don't like the "chrome door handle covers" on the late model trucks either. Ha. They look cheesy to me.

Thanks for the help. I did put disk brakes on the front. I found some 6 lug rallys on ebay and he had some 15x10's. With 4 1/2" or 5" bs, Could these work on the rear or should i go with the 15x8's with the 4" bs. im gonna bag the rear with the stock trailing arms and dont wanna rub.. Thanks.,blazer and 69 both look awesome!

They should work,... but I would measure for yourself,... before you make the purchase.
Just remember,... a 15"x10" rim will measure approximately 11" wide.

My bagged blazer has a 9.5" wide rim with a 5.5" backspace but it has the wider 71-72 rearend.
Go measure!

275/60 should be fine for a 10" rim. Some people also use a 295/50,... but that's a shorter tire. There are also bigger sizes available from companies like MIckey Thompson or Hoosier tires.

I used to run 295/50/15 on my '71 10" rears. Then I went 275/60.... It works but it wasn't my favorit. I realy liked the 295's. Does anyone make a 295/60/15? I have never looked into it.

Oh, BTW I realy like the look of your truck.

on my 295's I had to run about 25 psi. to keep from wearing out the centers. I liked to light them up. They were free. I used to work at Discount and would get them as take offs from the guys that would run 10" in the fronts. They always were worn on the inside sholders. They always had bad alignments from having to wide a front wheel.

there is not a whole lot of companys that make a 295/60/15 i looked for them for awhile the only ones i have found are the hoosier quick time drag d.o.t in the jegs catalog

Man I never get tired of seeing this beautiful truck. It helps keep me inspired to get mine put back together and take a road trip back down, only in my 69 this time and hanging out a little longer. Damn my busy schedule though. Any recent upgrades to speak of?

I'm back working on my '86 Dropmember project truck.
I can do a bunch of work on it,... without spending any cash.

I know how that goes. I'm saving up now for a 355 minus heads, intake, and cam. It was in my buddy's '70 Chevelle. That thing would run 12.35 all day every day. Low miles too. I can't wait to see the '86 with a little more progress, that thing was sick when I saw it. I can't imagine it any better.

If you have the wider 71-72 rearend,... the 5 inch backspace should be fine.
If you ever plan to bag it I would measure, to make sure.
I think Wheel Vintiques only makes them in 4.5" and 5" backspacing.

The '86 frame was bent (long story),... so I have the cab off and am in the process of swapping everything over to another frame.
I have all winter to mess with it.

Love this truck and your overall progress. "No-LIFE" to me is what these trucks are all about. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy looking at an immaculate show truck or a crazy custom.

Every ding and scratch has a story - thats why this truck has so much character, thanks for keeping it that way.
