Progress!!! Ok not that much but still, getting closer to having rear wheels underneath her again...it has been a year.

Rear stuff sandblasted.

Both hangers are mounted. Using grade 8 bolts, hope these are strong enough.

Started on the rear end. Ive had it re-built, now to just get it painted.

Where it sits now, gonna take a few days break then get started on it again.

Got bored while the paint was drying on the brackets and took the dash out.

And my new daily driver. 88 Silverado 116,000 original miles. Trade my 91 Suburban in and got this.

Progress is progress, no matter how little! Keep at it. Already mentioned it in your other thread, but the '88 looks like a great find.

AGREED Every little bit counts. The 88 looks great! (I am prejudice to white SWB fleets though ;) )

Re: Little Blue

Grade 8 will be plenty strong enough for spring brackets as long as the bolts fit the holes.

Alright got a few questions..

1. Where can I get new stainless steel bolts for the leaf springs and shackles? I got them painted but I don't wanna use my old ass rusted, slightly deteriorated bolts and nuts.

2. How would one remove all of the heater and and what not from the firewall? Inside the cab mind you..

Not sure if they're stainless, but it looks like LMC has the bolts for the leaf springs/shackles. If you're trying to source locally, I guess just check the normal auto parts stores...or maybe a place such as Fastenal.
