Hi Dale, No, I've been planning to, just haven't got it done yet, but with you asking, that helps. It gives me a reason to make one now. :) I'll see what I can come up with.

I'm working on a Tamiya Globe Liner, sort of, once in awhile..lol. If I get time at work today, I'll put a pic up of it.

jeffro2,

You are an awesome artist of RC :chevy: pickups

I just got a 72 Chevy two tone custom 10 4x4 longbox pickup, and I'd like to have a RC Chevy exactly like it.

I'll trade you a super nice customized Trex 450 heli that's RTF for your 72 Chevy ;)

Re: 67-72 4x4 Scaratchbuild

1st off, as ususal, I'm way behind on replies, :D

@ Dale (ol blue k20) Thank you Dale !

@ 68Bowtie4x4, Thank you very much for the kind words, and just so You know, I'm jealous of you getting a real K10 4x4. :) I want one..

Gotta say no on the helicopter, I don't have enough thumbs to run the controls, two thumbs are not enough for me, I'm no good with them. I make lots of junkyard parts :D, but I appreciate the thought.

@ mr incredible, Thank you, and if you see this, you have a PM

Up next, huh.. well, I haven't scratchbuilt anything lately, just some kits..

Here goes...

1st I did another Yota, its a junk yard build, I have lots and lots of extra parts

https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3844/...f279d107_z.jpg

Then I picked up and oldy from ebay and restored it. I had one like it, it was my 2nd ever RC.
It came out in early 90's, it has a Chevy body at least. All I did was clean it up and abuse it a little bit.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7lenoFwWiM

I built this RC Big Rig

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7550/...640d3388_z.jpg

I'm in the process of restoring another RC from ebay. A Kyosho Double Dare, It came out in 1988, it was the nemesis of the Tamiya ClodBuster.

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7532/...117a81f7_z.jpg
https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7515/...2f6e86bb_z.jpg

repainted the body on this one.

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7511/...0179a247_z.jpg

Starting on another F350, regular cab, (no chopping it up :) )

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7482/...c45b8010_z.jpg

trying to make some sort of body for my 8x8

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7571/...23295ec1_z.jpg

I also just started another Toyota... Brand New.. :)

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8585/...281a903a_z.jpg

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8671/...d164d32b_z.jpg

That's pretty much where I am at, for the moment. :)

Re: 67-72 4x4 Scaratchbuild

ok, well I'm subscribed. This is truly an art form. Amazing work here. That crew cab looks incredible.

Have you ever tried to make one of these with operable doors, tailgate and hood?

Has anyone made a shell of a small block chevy to cover the rc motor?

I'm still in awe of the fact that you're able to get the proportions so close without even having a full scale vehicle (or even another scaled down version) to take measurements from.

Thank you Mark ! I think the Crew Cab is everyone's favorite. :)

And to answer you questions..

Yes, I and a lot of others have experimented with opening doors, tailgates and hoods, but the problem for me or some of the other guys, is it takes away form the strength of the bodies, so you can't get as rough with them. Plus I'm lazy, I try to keep it simple most of the time and try to add other visual parts to help make them look as they do.

The company in this link has one, but I don't think its a chevy motor, it looks to have the distributor hole on the front of the intake manifold.

http://store.rc4wd.com/RC4WD-110-V8-...ne_p_4175.html

I think I may have confused you on some of my trucks, not all are scratchbuilt. I think I have 5 or 6 of those, the rest are either store bought kits with a premade hard plastic body or I have chopped up 2 premade bodies to make a crew cab (the white one) or a van or a stretched cab.

And for examples of modified bodies. This was built in 2010.

I built a Chevy Van, and I believe its the only one of its kind in the world. There might be smaller ones, but this is 10th scale.. It started out like this..I used a grill and front fenders truck bed and window frame from a premade chevy 80's truck body

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4063/...b428bae5_o.jpg

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4016/...0d2be005_o.jpg

It has opening rear barn doors :)

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4004/...6333b72a_o.jpg

And now..

https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5538/...464711a6_o.png

This one is another modified chevy truck body, I needed a Suburban

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8494/...0b07ebcb_c.jpg

I will add more stuff later if you are interested, time to do some work here :)

Its been quite awhile since I have posted anything on this forum, Most of my RC trucks are on display at a Hobby Shop in Springfield Illinois. I no longer own them either, I did some trading with owner and now he owns most of them.

I've slowed down on the building of scale RC's, now I'm hooked on power and speed... :) The ones that aren't scale looking.. :D

The red and white 72 could probably be bought if anybody happened to stop by his shop.

Sorry about that.. I used Flickr as a photo storage and they took a payment for the next year, even though I had unchecked auto pay with paypal... So I became childish and deleted the account... :o

I got over it, and I'm using them again...:) I should just let this thread die or try and rebuild it...That would be a slow process.. lol :)
