You are sharing my vision! :D. I'm starting to think that I need to get another 100 horses out of this LS3 to really make a good show.

Some updates to the rendering. Can't get the '74 grill in Digital Paint Booth so I have to imagine that, and the wheels aren't exactly what I'm going with. I'm really liking the backed out grille so I might spray or plasti-dip a reproduction one when I put it back together.

Dakota Digital VHX gauges. I need to find a way to get the vintage air controls backlighting to match the red backlighting of the gauges. For a radio I've got a Retrosound Model Two which has customizable backlighting to match.

Mike, your truck is a '74, right? You are going to have to move the wiper switch down a little bit to fit in the bezel. If you can, you might want to find a 75-up switch that is backlit as well, since the '73-74 switch was lit with a fiber optic cable that is most likely thrashed.

The cab actually appears to be late 70's vintage as it had the newer style wiper switch and wiper motor in it. I've got both a 74 and a later 70s switch and wiper motor that I can use. With the new harness I have I think I'll go with the '74 setup and we will move the wiper switch to accommodate the bezel. Only downside is I'll lose the backlighting and intermittent delay wipers, but I don't plan to drive this thing in the rain too much anyway. The tire widths won't help the hydroplaning situation :)

Found a few more photos of the color we are going with. Unfortunately the iPhone doesn't do a great job of color reproduction here but you get some idea.

Work has begun on the roll cage. We are trying to keep it hidden as much as possible inside the B pillars and between the inner and outer roof skins. It should be a pretty unique and cool cage setup.

While waiting some more parts have shown up, like the fuel tank:

Custom 20 gallon tank from Rick's Tanks.

Tony at Valencia Upholstery finished up the bench seat. I wanted to keep things original looking but also really want some bolstering for the corners. I think it turned out pretty awesome!

Snapped a couple of pics for you. The gauges are super nice and very well made. They also have cool options like using the turn signals in the factory location or using ones built into the gauge faces. I got an accessory module so I'll have oil and trans fluid temps as well as water temp. The e-stopp parking brake will also be wired right to the gauges so the "Brake" light will work when the parking brake is applied.

I've just got a rough idea about harnesses right now...I was thinking wide belts (3") in red, but now leaning towards black. Probably a 4 point setup. We are going to build a harness bar off of the cage crossbar above the seat to correctly position the tops of the harnesses. Nothing too fancy for the harness bar as I want to avoid it looking like headrests when peeking through the back window.

Guess I should start browsing for harnesses now...

Funny, we were saying the same thing yesterday after slapping those wheels on the one side. They make it look good even in primer. I'm pretty excited to see it sitting back down on the ground again. Gotta get the fuel tank mocked up then it can come off the frame table.

Just found this thread. WOW is all I can say for now. Looks killer. Those 345's on all corners is impressive. What are your wheel specs to get them to fit and turn?
