Firewall to front edge of core support in center is 39 3/8. Same above headlights 39 3/8

Thanks so much. Do you have a hei or points dizzy?

That motor is set back in there tight to the firewall, that must be a pain to lift out of there. That is not much room to be able to tip the motor down to get it in too.

So I would assume that the fan shrouds are also different between 2 and 4wd.

Thanks again. The info here is priceless.

Mine has points thats why I measured to the center. The centerline will not change on either. As far as being tight as long as you can get a screwdriver in to remove the cap it wont really matter. Can't anwser the shroud ? Have the stock v8 one with my burb. My C20 6cyl dosen't have one.

On another note. I didn't have to scrap the 68 K20. I had a few interested peeps but the solid one fell through the wk I had to make the shell/tub/chassis go away.

A good friend took it, not sure what he is going to do with it, but it found another home.

Sweet. Good info. Thank you. I think I am going to luck out and maybe have a little more room the a 4x 67-72 frame, but less than similar yr 2wd. We'll see

What is the measurement to the firewall?

Here is where I am measuring from. If that measurement is on the $ then I am close.

So the gas tank might be able to move slightly forward. The front body mount has room to go forward just enough. I got to lift off the body again to remove the stock 78 K20 Driver rear shock mount that is mounted to the top of my frame. It is in the way of a crossbar.

You are about 4 inches to far forward.... with your core support

Re: Rusty 68 K20 Burb

Fuel filler is on the opposite side too. Not sure what I am going to do about that. Might just hack up a 81-91 burb filler door setup.

Are you measuring the same spot?

So the neighbor was out of town and let me get a few more measurements. Looks like I am 5" off the mark, and my core support will have to come up too. This puts the front body mount in the way of the upper shackle. I might have to swap in the 52" springs and move the eye hole back sooner than later.

Just spin the fuel tank around. I did the opposite of you kind of. I put the square body tank in my 69 frame and I just pointed the neck on the tank to the drivers side, so it should work spun around in the square body frame.

I had thought of that but I never liked the external fuel fill, and for 4x4 purposes, I am worried I might rip it off in the rocks/trees.

Either way, you should be able to turn the tank around and put the filler on the LH side

Man this project is moving much slower than I want. Time and $$$ seem to keep going to other things. Life. And a few other broken trucks.

I kinda got to put the body mounts on hold. I got a few other things to consider before I mount it.

I started bolting up a few doors and converting the clamshell setup to barndoors. The doors are pretty beat up, but it's what I got for now.
There is a set for sale on here that even have the correct trim to match. Not the right color, but I lack the trim on my beat up set.

I also need to find front doors, maybe with the odd trim too.

The doors and hardware came off a burb that had already converted from tailgate to barn door. I am not sure if the hardware like the strickers and stoppers are in the correct spots. I also got this piece of wood as a spacer attached to one door.
Does anyone got pics of the original stuff?

I got the doors on and somewhat adjusted. They are pretty dented/bent up. The bottom has some rot coming through. I still have the strikers, stoppers, and limit brackets to mount.

If I could find a decent price on some rear glass seals I could almost have it sealed up for the winter.
