Sorry for the radio silence and the delay. trying to run the shop, build product and hold down a full time job is getting a bit out of control for me. I think its time to quit the job. but thats not a good excuse

You have a email with all the shipping info coming. I sent it priority to get it there quicker.

Just a heads up. I had to cut a notch in mine to clear one of the dash pad bolts.
No big deal the plastic is easy to cut.

I did hear this from one other customer and after looking at the 72 we did a dry fit on that stud was removed from the dash pad from the prior owner thats why we missed it. I would like to make a revision to the 67-72 plate but I dont have a truck with the dash pad stud in place.

If I make a 1/2 cut out on the top edge of the plate will that give enough clearance to get a socket on the dash pad nut?

Depends on how you mount it as far as being centered front to back. I didn't measure mine but it is more than half an inch. Here is some sub par pics I took of mine that you can see what I cut out and were in the grill my holes lined up. Just eye balled it.

Thanks you. Do you remember the depth in you cut?

These have been so popular that Im going to start running them on a cnc mill so it will be a "easy" feature to add.

I did mine one inch square.

Very interested. Has anybody installed one with the factory radio with mounting brackets? Looks like it could cause some clearance issues. If any body has some pics with factory radio that would also be great.

Thanks

Thank you for the feedback, I am working on a new design for the different year based on feedback from you guys. Lucky the material is very easy to work with.

Even with the aftermarket stereos we use, its a very snug fit. When you receive yours, please let me know if you have any questions.

Remember to dry fit several times before applying the adhesive.

I thought I would share the pics with the factory installed radio. The radio is actually stock housing with the fm/blue tooth added so I did not want to get rid of it.

I had to dent in the radio tin which had plenty of room inside. I also had to cut the speaker holder to fit with the stock radio mounting bracket.

Overall the install went easy and it turned out good. Took any about 45 min to fit and install.

Thank you for the feedback. This was also another reason I chose the speakers I did. They were very shallow and seem to fit most applications.

The relief for the dash pad bolt is in the works. where is says "cut half off" on the picture, what are you referring to?

I cut a 1/2 inch off on the dash pad side to move it a little closer in effort to get speakers a littler higher. The speaker I am using which is an alpine is actually a hair shorter then the Kenwoods. 1 21/32 vs 1 11/16 only 1/32 shorter, but if the magnets are smaller on the kenwoods that would allow more room.

I would definitely buy again. The material is very easy to cut.

Thanks
Kyle

OK, I get it now. Im glad it all fit. The material used was intentional as I knew there would be so many variables when installing. It is really easy to work with which makes life nice.

Funny to look back 6 months when this was just a thought you had and a problem worth solving.

Speaking of....you know what I haven't bugged you about in a long time? It rhymes with schmossmember. :mm:

Thanks, Im really happy with how well this little plate has done and the great feedback I have got to make it better. I have a few more small ideas like this in process right now. Trying to get the bugs worked out and on customer trucks.

The front suspension took a back seat for awhile. I ended up selling my big motor to foot the bill for some new website and business stuff. 13.5:1 wasnt streetable anyway so a 540 with twins is on the drawing board once the business starts doing its thing and I can get some help in here. 1 man band is getting tough. Its still a goal to go in the 8s on a bag in a truck, but helping customers is priority. I need to get back in the racing section and see whats new with everyone. Hope you guys are making gains.

Kyle

hahah its all good. Everything always gets pushed back when someone who's actually willing to pay walk in  Our Fbody hasn't even been out for more than 2 days at a time...and it just made good friends with a curb its last run out. Turns out "testing our new traction control program" means "keep your foot planted until it hits something"....go figure.

Spent most of yesterday helping fix a car that was spending welllll past the owners intelligence level. I mean, its a badass cryo'd and meth'd F1b on a forged 430 in a C6...but turns out you can't trust owners to ACTUALLY CHECK the #$%^)(%#$& ^ #$ METH TANK...... /rant

Glad things are going well. Offer always stands, I'll come out if you need help. Building and fixing people's junk feels about the same no matter where it happens :metal:
