Hey everyone, sorry about the lack of action on this thread, life took a few crazy turns then I had to go work in Indiana for 2 months and as you can see from the picture I packed it up an moved it to the back of the shop to save a little space. But I'm finally ready to get back on it!

Ever since I started this project I haven't been able to figure out what I wanted to do with the paint an body work, after a little experimenting with a wire wheel I think I'm gonna try to use as much bare metal as possible, kind of a patina/bare metal look

Re: '62 longbed going under the knife
Will you clear it?

Here is just an old shot of one of the rear cab mounts I had to replace since I'm switching the whole body to a '70 lwb. It had some wear and tear so I put a new piece of steel on it to stiffen it up a little for safety.

There hasn't been a whole lot of progress made lately other than changing out some of the old crusty bolts from inside the door

hey guys sorry I haven't updated this thread in a little while, I moved and the house work kinda took over my life but now I'm back on the grind to get this 'ol girl on the road again. I ended up moving it from the shop my dad an brother and I share to the garage at my new house. make it a little easier to just walk right out the door and work on it!

Re: '62 longbed going under the knife
Nice build man, rust repair all looks good! I hate bodywork, but reading through these build threads makes me feel like i'll be alright on it.
What did you use to make all your patch panels that you didn't buy? Press brake and english wheel? |

After getting the truck settled in at the new house I decided to tear the motor down and give everything a solid once over and got a gasket kit from speedway motors, just a little peace of mind knowing what was going on in there

Here is a shot of the motor mostly back together minus the new water pump I got. I scored a good deal on a set of sanderson headers off a buddy of mine, its slowly coming together!

My dad and me have been slowly digging away at getting the motor to fire, just at the annoying part of the build where you find out what works an what doesn't , being in depth with this motor has definitely been quite the learning process for me

After a lot of deliberation I decided to try my hand at a "fotina/under construction" look could still use a little work but I'm pretty happy with how it came out, next winter I would like to put a better paint job on it but this will be good for now!
