I think I need to start a "Show us your Canopy" thread (as awkward as that sounds). I thought the aluminum cap would be the first thing to go on my 1/2 ton but it is so handy! Maybe we can find one for Whamo.

dude, I love my shell.... some people say "it would look so much better without the shell" but, its my truck and I need it. It rains a lot where I live in Hawaii ... but, most importantly, I don't like to be like everyone else. If that were the case, I would drive a Tacoma just like everyone here. HAHA!

Hell ya, start a Camper thread, I was looking for pics of squares with campers before I got mine but, there weren't any. :waah:

also...the horse blanket speaker upholstery is starting to grow on me...

Thanks bro. I love my shell and its super functional.

As for the speaker box, bro, that was a royal PITA. That fabric sucks to work with - there were some lessons learned.

I have to say again, love your truck! Pretty much settled on white for my 80 for the first iteration of body work/paint and your truck is definitely an inspiration.

You may even have convinced me to go with 20's instead of 17's

Love that cap and with you being in Hawaii its even more impressive the finds you've had.

Do you have any more photos of your truck with the black steel wheels on it, besides the beginning of the thread?

Wow, thanks skyohix, thank you for the kind words bro. I love white vehicles... and white covers up a lot of blems! HAHA As for the wheels, yeah, I think you either roll stock rallys or go 20+.... actually, I am gonna order some 22s for the rear and offset them. I just bought new rims for my Harley so, gotta wait a lil while so my wife doesnt make me sleep in my truck. Good thing I have the shell though. :smoke:

Here are a couple more pics. I am gonna put the rally wheels back on for the winter (:waah:), I will take some more pics.

No problem and thank you for the compliments! The ride is so much better on the rallys and I like the classic look to be honest. The US Mags make it pop and take it to the next level.

I have been looking at the Ekstensive Metal Works Complete Kit for the C10... anyone used this yet? The price is right and it appears to be a good start for an airbag set up. I realize it is Front/Back and can upgrade to FBSS later... the price is in my budget depending how much it will cost to ship to Hawaii. Anyone have any insight or thoughts on it?

I bought everything but the C-Notch, however, went a different direction because I wanted to be able to drive at different heights while maintaining pinion angle.

Jwall has the setup on his truck, he loves it.

He has an awesome truck! I think all you'd have to do is set the ride height, pinion angel and weld the axle perch in place so that the axle doesn't rotate on you. Mike

Re: "Outkast" 1985 C10 in Hawaii

I live on the Big Island and the weather here is crazy. I rains like all hell is breaking loose and... I take the opportunity to clean up my wheels and inner fenders. My truck is a daily driver and due to my sports in the winter time, my truck sits at the beach a lot and with the rallies on it - it's less obvious to get broken into or stolen... there is a method for my madness! HAHA I can see where you are coming from though. That said, I still haven't changed it over and its almost time for the cruises and car shows to start up.

She is probably going under the knife soon to get bagged... we'll see if this damn furlough can end and I can get a damn paycheck... I need to get an air mgmt system and I can tear it down.

if it makes you happy, it was 51 degrees at my house (Mountain View, HI) this morning... that vinyl seat didnt help much on the way to work... nor did my whistling pop out window that makes me have to crack all my windows to keep it from whistling.... #squarebodyproblems

Wait... are you saying that is cold? With any luck we will make it to zero degrees Fahrenheit tomorrow in PA.

HAHA, uhhh yes, 50s is cold. I live in Hawaii... I had a choice and chose Hawaii because I don't do cold. I cant fathom why people live in places like anywhere north of Florida! LOL

It's funny how the climate thing works for people. We are a highly adaptable species, but are definitely drawn to a latitude that works best for us. My hat is off to our Canadian brothers. Having their whole country north of where I live sounds like a challenge I would fail at. My coastal village is temperate for its latitude although anything above 50 degrees is relatively pleasant to me. I'm gathering materials to build a big carport/covered area so that I can spend time outside whenever it's 50 degrees or above... It rains a lot here, haha.

Good call on using the rallies to keep your rig safe. I'm pretty sure it was my wheels that got my 93 truck stolen. I got it back, but without the wheels and tunes. It was a while ago, but it was already not a very new truck at the time.

My property is at 1700ft above sea level and where the trade winds push all the clouds against the mountain so, it rains a lot... and the temp is colder than down in town. I lived in Anacortes back in the mid 90s. It's beautiful up there but, I couldn't handle the rain and cold... Here I am living int he rainiest and one of the colder places on the island. LOL
