My dad's 79. Only truck he ever restored. Sold it to put a roof on the house years back. This was definitely my inspiration for my truck, can't beat a 6 inch and 35's! **Not sure why the image won't display on the post. I'm not smart enough apparently lol |

Re: Vintage picture thread
Is 20years vintage enough?
Right after I restored the 79 K10 Bonanza my dad bought new. Yes, i am a redneck cowboy from western NE...haha. Drove it all through college, the kid I sold it to ended up driving it to it's death. I've seen his pictures floating around on this forum. 350/350/NP203/3.42 gears. It would run 100mph in 2nd gear. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1936/...23c9fbe4_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1968/...5f903c0a_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1922/...f124d578_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1965/...e452430b_z.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1913/...ed30c7a7_z.jpg |

This is a '78 Silverado I had a few years. It was loaded, 454, Mahogany paint with Buckskin interior. This is how it looked when I bought it. I changed the grille back, 8" rallyes, and did an axle-flip/cut front springs. It was a Rancho kit. I also had a black tonneau cover made for it

Re: Vintage picture thread
That is sharp special-k! I like the square fogs on the bumper. Probably going to do that on my 89 K5.

Thanks. Here is an '84 diesel I had in the late '80s-'92. I bought it with a Banks Sidewinder kit and Gear Vendors O/D. I did the suspension, put new paint on it, camper/towing mirrors, locker rear, nice Alpine stereo/matching phone set-up. Volume dropped when phone rang and tape paused. I loved that truck

I'd swear that's Moog from Mighty Car Mods, but he's too young to have been riding a motorcycle at that time. Too young at that time for the other "things" too.

Something you just don't see anymore, bias ply mud and snow 16.5's. This truck makes the two 4x4's above ( post 139) look like toys.

I went and did my civic duty after work and was greeted by a long line. While staring aimlessly around the room I noticed this picture on the wall and took a picture of it, hence the less than stellar quality.
The truck is a 1973 c20 Cheyenne Super with a 454 owned by the farm manager for Armorel Planting Co at the time and I'm reasonably confident my 17 year old former self is driving the john deere cotton picker if it's a 9910, we had two 9900 pickers also. I'm quite positive the 17 year old me never dreamed the 53 year old me was taking this pic 35 years in the future. |
