Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
Quick Question... Do you think this is enough sound proof?
http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/...psae8e4b2f.jpg I just dont know... hehe |
Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
No but you're getting there .
Remember to do the inside of the doors too so they'll " THUNK " closed like a Caddy as well as reduce overall sound . |
Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
I was planning on it. :)

Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
Alright, I'm back again.... lol
I started to get my frame layed out in the Man Cave. Once I get a little more done on it I will post some picks. I also drew up my own 4 link brkts. And found a guy close by to cut them for me. Here are my hand drawn drafts. Let me know if they look ok? http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/...ps760badb3.jpg http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0b5abb18.jpg First time Ive drawn anything in a while. Did these in about an hour. |
Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
well I got them modeled and am generating the prints. Hopefully I'll have them back from the laser company next week. :)

Re : Good Work !
I rarely see tubs on lowered trucks and of course , this means they either cannot be driven much or the truck rusts out in two years even here in " rust free " So. Cal. .
Few take the time you're displaying to think things out fully , your rig is a big inspiration to many DIY'ers :metal: . |
Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
Great way to utilize space in the man cave.
|
Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
Nate I have to agree with you on the trucks that dont use tubs of some kind. To much road grime and water gets where you donjt want it. I wanted mine to have the ability to be daily driven but also have the style under the hood allowing you to see the suspension work and keep my engine bay dry.
Thank you for the complement. And Mike I appreciate your comment on my use of space. lol. Ive made one heck of a mess in there, but all of it is well worth it. |
Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
Those are some slick pieces for the truck.
Can't wait for the pics of them installed. |
Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
Great job on the frame, the custom pieces you had made up is going to add a nice touch.
|
Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
Thanks guys, You all are really making me feel good about this build!
I've been trying really hard to make this truck a one of a kind. And so many people like Mike Losh and the guys at Porterbuilt are making these dreams come true. I also talked with The guys at Accuair and we are working on getting an E-level set up for The "Storm"! Everyday I am so blessed to work with such great people like the afore mentioned and am so greatful to each of them for their support. So hopefully soon we all will be seeing this build really taking off! |
Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
Looking great. Keep the momentum going and posting pictures for us.

Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
where would be the best place to get 4-link rod ends? I've looked at the jimmy joints made by summit machine, but they are a little pricey.
Any suggestions? |

Thanks bud. I'll give them a call tonight.

Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
Read thru your thread. I like your progress.
Here is another source for Rod Ends. I have had good luck with them in the past. One of my orders got pushed out and they called me and I ended up getting an upgraded rod end for the same price since it was a manufacturing mistake that my order got pushed out. Seem to be good people. http://www.midwestcontrol.com/ Here is a sample Chrome Moly, Nylon Race, 3/4-16 stem, 5/8 hole in the ball: http://www.midwestcontrol.com/part.php?id=2036 good pricing at a Qty of 10 at $12.74 each |
Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb
Nice progress. Can't wait to see your link set up
