here is his description of the truck, "it has a 67 front end all the door handels and side lights have been shaved, all the rust has been cut out and welded back with pach panels. It has PS, PDB, 5 lug, tack, tilt, 3" lowerd springs all the way around, C-noched over the rear end, all new tinted glass, new door rubbers, 400 SB runs good, TH350. It has all new interior in it."

i bought this panel a few months ago. i'm about to drop in a 700R4. other than than it hasn't changed much. and i pulled the bench seat and put in buckets seats.

Man, that's nice inside (and yeah I usually only occupy one seat at a time as well.) Thanks for the pics! I wonder if the side-wall covering provides any noise reduction. Any chance you've ridden in another panel without that type of interior and compared?...probably a long shot, eh?!

Nope can't help you there. but as it is i need to put the weather striping back in. so i get a lot of wind noise the way it is now. i've only seen 2 67-70 panels this on and one on a car trailer on I40 in AZ. it was white with flames on the front of it. also there's been a 70 panel for sale on craigs list in seattle for the last few weeks. if anyones interested i'd like to get rid of the bench seat that i took out.

sorry i wasn't more help.

Nah, that's great thanks anyway. But if you find yourself in Seattle maybe give the CL dude a call and go for a test drive to report back on the noise difference??haa.haa just kidding! btw, I looked for the CL panel and couldn't find it, not looking to buy, was just curious...
cheers!

Nice panel afmdmc. I think I saw this panel in person for sale @ Portland swap meet in 2010. Looked like a quality build. Nice folks too.

I hear you guys on the mirrors. I was running with standard truck mirrors for the last 18 months and I liked the look but not the huge blind spot...I just re-installed the originals....much better visibility and somewhere to rest my hand while driving as a bonus!

i'm sure they work but i think i'll try something else.
this is what im thining about.
http://www.haganauto.com/product_p/mrh.htm

was wondering what you've got for seats.

you know. noisy people need to know. ;)

robb67 07-01-2011 01:56 PM

Re: pls post pixs of 67-72 Panels

For seats, after much thinking it thru, I went with some new manufactured seats out of California. Here's a link to the actual seats I purchased, I went with black vinyl. I think I paid $649 a few years back.

http://tinyurl.com/3zpeflh

One more thing about these seats, the cup holders are way too shallow to hold a normal take-out coffee/drink cup...there are 4 holders and the back 2 are marginally deeper but it's a shame cause I seem to drive with a coffee most of the time.

My starting point. Pics are deceiving . It needs ton of body work. Bothe sides lower is rusted all to hell. Grandpa had a 1/10th a$$ body man screw it up. He did verygood job of that has more bondo than the local paint store. Was sanded with da using I think 80 grit paper, judging by swirl marks and how deep they are. looks good from 30 feet plus with no sunlight. Does have new 454 I rebuilt 15 years ago may hve 200 miles on it. Needs little hopping up Pa wasn't much on lopy cams headersand other fun pwer stuff. I plan full blown custom interrior after the boddy work and new suspenion work. Hopefully money issue will be better soon maybe after 2012 elections and I can get back to normal life and get more work done on it.

I may have purchased the panel you saw on I40 about 2 months ago in Pomona, CA. It's now in Poway, CA. 1968 C10 panel, white with blue flames on the hood and front fenders. Relatively rust free. Don't see too many of them around.

Thank you! Does anyone out there know how to adjust the barn doors on a panel truck? The right door overlaps the left door at the top when they are closed. I've been looking at hinges and the look solid and intact. The bolts are tight but I can't figure out how to make the adjustment. Any help would be appreciated.

I almost bought this panel back in Jan this year, at Pomona. For me, there was just too many little things wrong/not right for the price they were asking.

Cool looking rig though. I ended up buying a '65 Panel (in my Signature) to go with my two C10's. :)

Re: pls post pixs of 67-72 Panels

Mike: I'm converting tihs panel to "regular" power steering and getting away from the "ram assist". I'm looking for a center drag link because the current one will not work for regular PS. Do you know of any one who may have a center drag link for a C10 for sale?

chevy_mike 08-21-2012 05:16 PM

Re: pls post pixs of 67-72 Panels

You might check Hiway 67 Truck Dismantlers on Hiway 67, north of Lakeside. They tend to get a lot of trucks and I have bought parts for my '68 and '65 down there. There is also a guy on Craigslist in Chula Vista that sells parts for 60-66 panels/burbs. The center link is the same from '63-'70.

poway 08-21-2012 10:20 PM

Re: pls post pixs of 67-72 Panels

Mike: Thanks for the info. I was finally able to get the center link off tonight after work. I checked with 67 Truck Dismantlers and they only have C20 center links. I can get one from a Todd68Chevy on another post. He'll have to ship it to me. I'll check with the guy in Chula Vista if I can find him. I'm kind of curious as to what they were asking for the panel back in January? I wouldn't mind seeing your trucks since we live in the same area.

Poway

Re: pls post pixs of 67-72 Panels

Hey Poway- here's a CL post by him, http://sandiego.craigslist.org/ssd/pts/3201201915.html

Definitely need to hook up. Check out my local truck club in my sig below and come on by our Sept. meeting at the Denny's on Miramar Rd.

As for what they were asking, I think they were at $9500 but I had been working a deal at $8000. After I passed, I saw it posted later at $11000.

poway 08-24-2012 03:18 PM

Re: pls post pixs of 67-72 Panels

Mike: I found a drag link in Victorville. I'm driving there tomorrow. About the panel ... I can understand your concern about all the little things not right about the truck. I saw them as well. I also saw the 11G price tag on it on another web site. I was able to pick it up for just a bit less than you had offered. I think in May they were hungry and wanted to "thin the heard" as the owner stated to me. I'm glad I bought it and it's now my second project. I'll see you in September! Thanks for the link to your club.

Where did you get the headliner in the front? I think mine is original and painted over. It's looks like it is the type of sound deadening material painted white. It's starting to peel off in spots. Thanks in advance for your help...Poway

It breaks my heart to post this. I had a 70 panel for over twelve years until I fell on hard times and was forced to let it go. It wouldnt have bothered me that much but I found out later that the guy that bought it stripped it to build a pick up and crushed the panel. Not a day goes by that I dont miss that thing. Hopefully I will have the chance to get another one one day.Attachment 1031096
