Re: Post Your Ride 67-72 Trucks

It's been a long time since I've been here. I bought a '72 back in 2002 and the short story is that just didn't work out. But this past weekend I got a '69 and I couldn't be much happier.

As you can see it's got a 71-72 grille. I'll change that when I have a little extra money.

A previous owner put a Sony radio in but did not cut the dash. It also has Cheyenne Super emblem on the glove box and I'll need to swap that.

My first priority is to put a new speedo cable on it so I don't get a ticket. I ordered a few odds and ends and after I install those I'll start looking for a grille and think about putting the right emblem on the glove box. Seems like someone wanted to make this look like a 71. My dad had a 71 and the idea is mildly appealing to me, but the idea of it looking "correct" is even more appealing. Glad to be back!

Couple quick pics of my '72. I'm a little late to this party but love all the trucks that are here. Thanks for sharing your rides.

Midwest - what do you mean "tear into them" they both look beautiful, especially the two wheeler - wish my bed was that clean and straight.

texascowboy,

I see you got one of those dash pads with the guage pods. How do you like it? Did it fit well without tweaking?

Tom

I used industrial Double-sided tape up near the windshield and kept weights on it overnight to cure. It fits pretty dang good! Yes I like it. It's a good conversation piece!

Novajess Thats definitely unfortunate that you had to sell the truck.. But at least you made a profit and hey, now you can build a new (old of course!) truck!

I do have a question for you though, What size were the tires?

We made some good progress last year and hope to have it finished by the end of the this one. The first picture shows what I started with. The second pictures shows where it is now after many hours of hard work by Rolcrln of LFD.

This is the 69 GSA truck I am trying to sell on the bay, hopefully for enough to be able to finish one of the other projects I have (thinking the 68 short fleet w6.0/4l80e!). I have several trucks, I may try to attach all of them to this post, but check the sig to see just how many!
