Its a 388ci stroker, word product sportsman ll heads, crane rockers, new summit cam, had 4.11 gears its got 3.23 now waiting to find some 3.73. Ran it with 33" bfg all terrains and won the class i was in, motor is being rebuilt due to a burnt out piston hopefully get her back on the road and maybe lower it an inch or 2 and put drag radials on it

Thanks . The repairs are coming along pretty good. We hope to be back out by the end of July . Feel real good about being able to run in the .40's or maybe even .30's when we get back out there . We corrected a lot of things that have been holding us back . We are excited about getting back out there . Thanks , Bobby . Oh and Lisa says hello everyone .

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.

Just got back from my truck's first run at the track. It was truck/suv night at music city raceway (1/8 mile track). Not a very good turnout at all. I ran a whole second slower than I was expecting so I have some work to do. I couldn't get any tire spin to save my life and I think that hurt me. Ran 10.8 pretty consistently all night. Had a couple of fluke freak runs. Here's the best.

RT - .296 (once i settled down i was consistently .170)
60' - 2.51
330' - 7.03
ET @ 594 - 10.00
1/8 ET - 10.66
1/8 mph - 67.57

Obviously my 60' times killed me. Felt like it took forever to get into the powerband without tirespin. Here are my engine specs.

Stock 350 bottom end
Comp Cams 268 High Energy K-Kit
Heavy Chevy 185 heads
Edelbrock Performer Intake
Stock Q-Jet
MSD Streetfire HEI (conservative advance weights and springs)
Stock Rams Horn manifolds to true dual 2.25 exhaust with stockish turbo style mufflers.

Even though I ran at the back of the pack I still had a great time. And I'm pretty sure my truck was the oldest vehicle out there. ::metal::

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.

Have to add that it was blazingly hot and humid.. at least 90 degrees all night with a good 65-70% humidity.

Rear end gears I think are 3.23s. Was crossing the finish line about half way thru second gear.

Yeah I think there's still some power that I haven't untapped yet. Especially in my mechanical advance. Moving this weekend but hoping to do some tweaking and hit the strip again in two weeks.

Next time out I'm going to spray it for the first time. My chassis is only good to 8.50. I'll spray what it needs to go below 8.50 once.

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.

Thanks Shaun,
It would of came down who treed who if we lined up to see who took the stripe.
But then you would of blown right by me. You pull some serious MPH.

I'm excited for your new back half and motor/trans combo. keep that build thread coming!

Super73 09-05-2011 10:20 PM

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.

I only had the mph I did do to the lock up verter. I have also been told recently that Sacramento's 1/4 mph is roughly 3mph high compared to other tracks with similar DA. So maybe a combo of both?

Someday I want to go visit my brother and take my truck to the strip in Medford.

68 C-10 KID 09-06-2011 08:42 PM

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.

Hell YA! come up. I never raced in Medford neither. My buddy has a 53 GMC drag truck That's dying to head down.

It would be a day to remember. A few SBC powered trucks taking the stripe again and again. Beating up on those big tire big block cars!

Rear Gear Stock 3.73 with RPO G80 Limited Slip.

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.

I went out Friday night to the track to do some testing on the new competition engineering
rear shocks with the correct travel lengths. Found out I could turn the 2 step off and let those tires fight. It was real viscious launches, but fun.
It was even fun getting passed by a 71 chevelle doing a wheelie LOL. At least I treed him.
Turns out he had a all aluminum 632 that has ran in the 8.90's small tire.
well here is the 2 best 60' runs. The MPH seems a little slow to me.
60-1.556/1.549
1/8-7.241/7.248
mph-93.59/93.44
1/4-11.535/11.552
MPH-112.38/112.06
