Re: The SILVER INDIAN: '61 Apache Stepside, 5th Wheel Hauler in Brighton, England.
Hi all just wondering if anyone could give me some advice.
Would anyone one know if a Chevy c10 and Chevy c30 front crossmember Are the same. We’re the crossmember connects to chassis. Thanks in advance Pete |

I have bolted a C10 front cross member to a C30 frame and no issues. I do not see why it wouildn't work the other way. The A Arms are different between the 2, but exactly how I do not remember.

The '73-'87 C20 and C30's retained the steel bushings on the control arm shafts just like the '63-'72 C10's did. The crossmember should interchange.

Re: The SILVER INDIAN: '61 Apache Stepside, 5th Wheel Hauler in Brighton, England.
Hi all just looking for some guidance as to which engine mounts to use on my truck.
as I’m do a front suspension upgrade put an 1986 c10 clip in 1961 truck. Running 350 in the old girl any pics or guidance would be great, Thanks Pete :metal: |
Re: The SILVER INDIAN: '61 Apache Stepside, 5th Wheel Hauler in Brighton, England.
You could use the '86 mounts (which is a much better design) but the '61 frame is much shorter than the '86 frame. The brackets that fit the '60-'62 frame best are the brackets for the '67-'72 with a small block. However some guys say they still need a .250" spacer on top of the frame.
