A few more.

If y'all ever find yourself in the Summerhill neighborhood of Atlanta, I highly recommend Wood's Chapel BBQ. It was delicious

One of my former room mates got married yesterday. Drove Frankentruck from Milledgeville to Newnan and back with only one problem. I was crossing a bridge over Lake Sinclair and ran over something large enough to make the passenger high beam light come back on. I thought it had died completely and was going to replace it, but maybe I won't have to

Something went a little funky with the brakes after that though because the pedal got really stiff and when I got back to the house, I could smell hot brakes around the driver's rear. Guess I'll be taking the drum off later today to investigate

It's got an 8.1L big block too. The owner thought about making it into a ramp truck but decided to just go with the flat bed and is glad he didn't make it longer than it is because it would have been harder to drive around and park

Just a tad busy, but such is life

Well, either a turtle or an armadillo tried to take out my emergency brake cable. After the front tire hit it, it must have popped up and slammed into the cable. That pulled the cable out of the backing plate enough to tighten up the shoes on that side and drag a bit on the rest of the 8 miles home.

Got the cable back into place and all is well. I'm glad it wasn't a broken spring inside the drum!
Also, the factory jack has come in handy the past two weeks.

Messed around with some sunset pictures again. Just my phone with a smidge of editing on the laptop. My parents have a fairly nice camera back at home, so I might have to start using it this summer. My four year old phone is a little behind on the times camera wise

Thanks, Andy! The thought crossed my mind to use part of the bonus I'll be getting (when I start working full time in the fall for the same company I did my internship with) to buy a new one, but I'll probably be spending it on truck parts instead

:D I figure since I've already spent about $3,000 on CPA exam study materials and for two of the four exams, I'll treat myself and Frankentruck to some new parts. I just have to pass all four exams to get reimbursed by my company for the money I've spent on passing the exams. I'm 1/4 way there with the second exam coming up in a month. Yee haw :exit:

Hang in there, it will all be worth it! In my experience, the study materials are key. I gave up an entire football season's worth of Saturdays attending a prep course, which turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made.

An old mentor of mine shared with me that after he passed the exam, his father said 'now you'll never starve'....that said, there were only 13 FASB's when he got his license  (fellow bean counters will understand :) )

Oh man, only 13 FASB's would be so nice
As long as I pass each exam on the first try, I'll be done before September rolls around. I'm one for one so far on that plan, so gotta keep studying to make sure that happens.

A feller didn't trip, but still had a slight mishap

Another stage of life has ended, but a new one has just begun. I guess I gotta be an adult now ;)

Congratulations Bro.
I don't even know you other than from here on this forum but I am very proud of you.
Way to go, you did it.
Now you can get your CPA on the first try.
Praying for your continued success.

Congratulations on that and justifiably proud of achieving that. Hopefully there will be enough time later to enjoy the truck.

Thank you, Vince! I'm 1 for 1 on passing a CPA exam on the first try, but now I've got three more to do

Thank you, Harald. I will probably spend the next couple of months enjoying the truck before I tear it apart for all the rust repair later this year.

These are more of the graduation pics y'all were expecting to see

I took high school graduation pictures with Frankentruck a while back, so of course I had to do it again. I ended up not taking pictures for my undergraduate degree because I had already decided to return to Georgia College for my Masters, and my graduation ceremony was an online only ceremony. This time though, it was a normal ceremony, so that was nice.

Anyways, enjoy some pics of Frankentruck and myself out at Lake Sinclair.

I know what's wrong with it, it ain't got no gas in it!

It's hard to put into words about how thankful I am for my parents. They worked hard to raise me up to be a respectful member of society. I think I turned out ok ;) They let me keep a bunch of spare parts in the garage and make a mess out of the driveway frequently. It's a great time in the Carpenter household :metal:

Thank you! I enjoyed my internship, and I'll be doing the same type of work when I start full time later this year with the same company. I do get to spend my summer studying for and passing the rest of my CPA exams. 1 down, 3 to go.

Lake Sinclair a nice spot to "run out of gas". When do you start your new job?

My sons UGA graduation is this Friday...hard to believe. You guys are making me feel old(er), but then I move on the 22nd...so no time for that feeling old stuff! LOL

I'll be starting some time around August, most likely. Gives me plenty of time to get at least 3 of the 4 CPA exams passed. Ideally, I could pass all 4 before I start working, but I've set it up to where I take the "easiest" of the 4 last.
Congrats to your son as well!
