Thanks Mike for stopping by yesterday. Great visit and congrats on the weight loss. It seems too much hard work can actually be good for a person!

I had about given up on you, though I do realize how easy it is to fall out of the posting updates habit. I have got to catch up on your build now that you are back...?? Quote:
Life should be calming down quite a bit after today, wife is getting her ACL repaired today from her Valentines Day ski trip mishap last Feb. Here in a couple of hours my list of responsiblities will be limited to taking care of her until she is up on her feet again. Lots has happened since we left Alaska, I still look forward to sharing it all with you, but it will not be here. That story belongs to the Tow Truck, and so it will be written there. Sure do miss you guys, miss working on my truck, but I DO NOT miss Alaska Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha As always thanks for checking in on me, you guys are the greatest !! |
Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
welcome south bro... glad you're settling in and i'm looking forward to many stories of future adventures.
|
Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
Glad to hear from you. Hate to hear that your wife had a problem with her ACL but she should be in good hands. Will be great when you can get back to both trucks.

Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
It's good to hear from you McMurphy :)
I hope all went well with the Mrs' surgery. That must explain the Tacoma location. I look forward to more posts. |
Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
Good to see you made it to a McDonalds Michael ;-))
Trust the settling down is going well. Look forward to you getting on stream fully. |
Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
I just spent the last 3 hours reading through this entire build thread and I am flabbergasted. It was like I went through the journey with you and was right along side with you. You are one cool dude and I hope your finished work allows you to thoroughly enjoy your truck from here on out!

But then I remember a couple of builds here that I too poured myself into reading, Alans Vitamin C-10 build was by far the most epic !! I am glad you liked it, how did you happen across it if I may ask? |
Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
I just went to the build thread and started reading. Which led me to marks, which led me to alans lol haha

Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
I just thought I'd let everyone know that McMurphy is alive and well. We hung out at the local car show today for a couple hours and then he came by the shop so we could tighten his alternator belt for his trip home.
He still doesn't have internet service at their property, so it's no tellin when he'll be back on the forum. |

I cannot imagine lack of Internet slowing him down on builds and art. It may even be a good thing not getting distracted. Send him my regards when you connect again. |

Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
Hey guys !!
Nothing new on the Apache Custom SS I am sorry to say. Still needs front glass, exhaust, and alignment up front.... right now it is standing in the tall grass working on its patina. Heeheheheh Only thing I have done with it since arrival is show it off to friends and family, keep starting it once every couple weeks, and moving it from spot to spot as we work on the property. soon my pretty, soon..... Hey CapFab, was incredible hanging out with you again at Car d'Alene and thanks again for the assist with the fan belt. The squeal is a vacuum leak in the fuel line....a couple squirts of starter fluid confirmed this incredible oddity. I guess when Edlebrock wrote their carbs were designed to work with stock fuel pumps, they were NOT talking about straight 6 engines...... Am visiting the wife in Tacoma right now on the other side of the state.... will post some pics of property in the next couple days I am here. with internet.... |

Think I have mentioned before that is still only has 2 miles on the odo.... meh Dude I been "home" almost a year now, trying to catch up to you is like waiting up to catch Santa Claus !! |

The squeal was a vacuum leak, had to tighten my intake manifold down. Where I thought it was the fuel line, was right above the intake so when I did the starter fluid trick, any that got past the fuel line would cause the engine to rev. All fixed now and running like a champ (and quietly) again !!! Thanks again Capt. It is good to have friends. |
Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
It was great to meet you at Clems. It was very cool to talk with everyone there about the same stuff we all have a passion for. Maybe next year we can drive our trucks.
