Great build, I enjoyed the entire thread so far. I am steeling you Park Brake idea to incorporate into my 59. Just to find the correct parts.

Finished up installing the steering wheel and gear indicator. The wheel is a 48 mated to the 82 Eldo column. Horn button even works! Indicator is mid 60's chevrolet, but with an aftermarket TH350 pattern instead of Powerglide. I did not like the gunsight indicator so made my own bowtie out of 1/4" plexiglas. It has day glow paint on each side of the indicator line so I will be able to see it at night.

Got the grille and bumpers painted. Bombay Ivory, stock color, used single stage 2K. took 2 days to clean the garage, 2 hours to paint! Now I need to figure out the best wall to paint the grille lettering.

From my reading Seats are 07 Yukon third row. But by all means go and look at the entire build. This is hands down one of my favorite builds, has some cool one off stuff.
Start at 17 to get some cool seat stuff.

Nice to see some new pics. The grill looks great, and the nice thing about painting something is that you can see progress when you finish. The whole truck is looking good.

I've been away from the site a few years. I thought you would have been finished by now, but glad to see you are still making progress. It looks great!

Me two, but between work and a porch addition to the house, have not had much time. Am planning on a big push this spring to get the final blocking done so I can get it to paint. Last big item is getting the bed wood milled, stained and installed before I put the bed back on. I just need to decide on which species of wood I want to use. I am going to sneak cutting and milling it in to the porch siding project while I have the wood working tools set up.

Thanks Joe. Joan (wife) just told me I need to get the truck done so see can park her new truck in the longer garage bay. As soon as the temps get up a little I will get the blocking done and get it painted. I told her the honey do list man get a little slim this spring!

Did you do the edge binding on the carpets yourself?

Orrie,

Did you shrink the wheel diameter smaller? Kind of looks like you did in the photos.

Maybe you posted the process and I missed it but if not and you have photos, please enlighten us. Thanks, Dan

I agree with your wife. You need to hurry up and post pictures of this build. It is one of my favorite. I enjoy your creativity.

Orrie: I was wandering back thru your build looking at some of your finish detail work. Post 1027 shows you carpet and mats which look really good. How did you bind the exposed edges? Thanks...dug

Re: Lurker OrrieG Progress Pics

I used a product called Insta bind, here is an install video. Local auto interior shops wanted to much money to sew it onto my carpet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXJTxOyZO8I

No, stock 49ish big truck wheel. Looks like I cut the spokes, but it was just that badly cracked. I wanted the larger diameter wheel look.

Installed the fire extinguisher behind the driver seat. 5# commercial model with metal head so it can be recharged if it get low. Getting ready to do the bed wood, going to use ash and mill it myself. Noticed I need to do something about that shiny screw and washer on the seat too.
