Re: My 57 Pro Street

Just an update.
My back has been bothering me again.
Had an MRI and I have two herniated discs (L1/L2 and L3/L4).
Seeing the surgeon on Wednesday the 22nd to see what the best course of action is.
the L3/L4 is pretty bad and just above my fused discs at L4/L5.
Hope to get back on track if they can get it taken care of soon.
Kim

Kim, those back problems can sure wreck a man's projects. I have dealt with mine for years. Had a L4/L5 disc replacement done in 2005. Fusing causes adjacent disc to be susceptible to rupturing. Hope they can get you through this without surgery. You have a great build going. Hang in there. Take care.

Sorry about your back, Kim.
You've mentioned that before.
Mine L4-L5 was repaired 5 years ago, only thing left from that is that I don't have any feeling in my right shinbone. Back is ok, no more pain from that.

Hope you gonna be alright and be back in no-time!
Be safe and take care!!

Thanks for the encouragement guys.
The Doctor I'm seeing comes highly recommended so he should be able to get me fixed up in no time.
Hope to be able to get back to the truck asap.

Tempted to joke with you about "rub a little dirt on it" and keep going, but I know backs are extremely serious business and NOT a true joking matter. Hope the doctors fix you up quickly and as close to painlessly as possible. Best, Dan.

PS: Any chance you will be making it to he Brother's show next month (I think)?

hey Kim, sorry to hear about your back issues. it is something we all take for granted until we have an issue. hopefully your doc will have a solution without a huge surgery and long recovery.

This shouldn't be as bad as the first two as it's getting taken care of much quicker.
Took years to get back to somewhat normal.

i worked construction for most of my life, i understand back paint all too well :(
one reason truk took me 8 yrs to finish was a break to fuse L3,4&5 and the recovery
hang in there kim, we're all pulling for you :D

Re: My 57 Pro Street

Saw the surgeon yesterday.
Looks like he has to go in and do a little clean up at a couple of places. Doesn't think it will need to be fused.
Go back in a week as he wanted x-rays of the area to go with the MRI just to be sure.

I do try to do a little when I can just can't stay at it too long without causing pain.
It's frustrating because I have the cab getting close where I can get it back on the frame and start getting it into the painting stage.

That's what I'm looking forward to.
Been a couple months since it started giving me trouble again and I don't take pain meds because of the residual effects they have on the ongoing problems from the nerve damage from my first herniated disc.
