Hey crash. Just curious, did the 77-79 steering
Box bolt right in? And where did you get the 2" drop pitman? Hope your getting some quality time in the truck After all those months of work. Chris Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Crash's 69 K10
The truck sits level but your right the larger radius front wheelwell always make the back look a bit lower, think it sits just right as it is, crazy camera of yours just goes and goes for picture time. sure is a wallpaper truck, nice. What brand is the front diff cover, I like the style of it.

Thanks for the info on the steering box. I'm gonna take your advice and do this. Seems like one of those mods that in the end, you really notice and makes a huge difference. Chris |

I had the same problem with my steering and I found it was the screw head holding in the turn signal lever would make contact with horn contact ring. I ended up just putting a piece of electrical tape over the screw head after adjusting the horn to make sure it didn't happen again. |

Truck looks great! Probably the nicest 69 K10 I have ever seen! One day maybe my 72 K10 will look half this good. |
Re: Crash's 69 K10
Mark, how do you like the 5.3/4L60E? I'm planning the exact same swap (up to a NP205 as well) and wanted to know what people thought of them. Particularly the tranny.
Thanks! |

Thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. :metal: My dad's '99 Silverado has a 5.3/4L60E in it, the tranny's blown up twice. He rebuilt it the first time, and a month later it blew up again. After he rebuilt it the second time, there were no problems, and that was 5 years ago... It's my understanding that if you just upgrade the sunshell then that will make them stronger. I was contemplating either the 4L60 or the 80, but decided I'd probably go with the 60 since you don't have as much momentum it. Thanks again! |
