Thanks guys. I am going to do a frame off on it. Going to keep everthing but the motor.original. Will return it to its original red with white top color scheme. I will rebuild the 350 the previous owner put in it. Would like to get that up into the 380 hp range. If I came across a 327(which was what it had from the factory) I might go that route. It actually runs and drives great...including the T221. Sat 10 years before I got it so it needs a lot of TLC. I am not sure I like manual steering so might convert that at some point. I think there are plenty of things to work on before I jump that hurdle. Looking forward to leaning on the fine folks on this forum to do this right.

Nice K10, be sure to start a build thread to document your progress
Sounds like it'll turn out looking alot like my K10, what shade of red are you thinking? Mine was originally 514 Red which is what I put it back to this summer but I also spec'd the white roof for the repaint

Adam,
I will be getting a build thread started once I get going. Right now still trying to get 48 years worth of build up off of it so I can see what I am up against and get numbers off some things. My elbow already hurts and I haven't even started!
If mine ends up looking similar to yours that will be fantastic. The original paint code on mine is 544(514 Body, and 521 top). I believe that will make it look just like yours, assuming you did 521 white. Mine didn't come with the cab lights(which look great) so I will not be doing those. The interior in mine is a grey color...forget the name and code off the top of my head. I will be sticking with that color. What sound deadening material did us use on the hump? Did it work?

Sounds good Brook, the roof on my truck is indeed 521 white as are the wheels, some of the trim and tailgate lettering
The sound deadening material I got is generic stuff from Car Quest, it comes in 2 foot by 6 inch sheets. I did a bit last winter and it seemed to work okay, I'm installing a whole lot more this winter so I'll let you know how it works out. I'm going to double it up on the hump and I also put some on the inside of the hump to hopefully kill a bit more gear noise, time will tell!

It is funny how the gear noise was a lot cooler to hear when a young guy but not so much being older, plus today we can do something about it.

Here's my truck. It's a 1969 K1500. It was my grandfather's truck. A little over 24,000 original miles. Just bought it back in late November, and am now starting to work on it. It's been off the road for about 20 years, so there's a lot to do. But, it's pretty solid.

Just a note here, on 67-68 trucks the two-tone secondary color was actually 526 off-white/ivory as were the bumpers and such.

Finally found a decent factory 72 SWB K10 4 speed at a respectable price. No small feat in my area I discovered. Rust above windshield. Drivers side rocker panel, passenger door and fender. Seller included brand new replacements of all of it except roof patch that he hadn't gotten to installing. He even included the original wheels and hubcaps! Frame and the rest of the cab /front clip not mentioned above look rust free and straight.
Here's a few pics from this morning before she goes inside and gets torn down. Plans are swap bed to fleet side, rust repair, body work and paint, either a 12v diesel or a big block transplant and whatever suspension/frame changes that go with that, change out rear springs (has blocks now), bucket seats, relocate fuel tank, new wheels and tires, A/C and a few other items along the way. I'll start a build thread once I get going.
Anyways here's a few pics for now...
