Here's a stepside 69 and a 83 Silverado I did to match my dads project truck. I need to update the wheels on this one. I finally found some he would like.

Nice! I like the wheels and rake on the '69...and the 2-tone paint, of course. The '83 came out nice in factory-like 2-tone.

Thanks special k. I've got a few more I'm working on. I will post them when I finish. I've been working on hot wheel night lights for some kids of coworkers this week.

Yeah, I'd like to see how those nigh lights turned out. I have one of the first edition (red) Custom 69s made into a flash drive.

Flashed, I'm sure I have no more talent than you. Probably had more spare time than the times I did mine. Just collect what you need for when the right time comes.

Tim ,time is definitely in short supply these days .Im doing good trying to keep up my daily driver trucks and firewood cutting and my wife just lined me up some home projects for spring so it is always busy at my place .

Oh that's right, you're married . Nah, that's a good thing. Most of the ones I painted I mixed in with working around the house... drill out rivets and dunk in stripper, go about my business awhile, hit it with the hose and set in the sun, go about my business, Prime it, back to work, then paint and set in the sun to bake, more work.

Sorry for the delay guys. I've been making a ton of these lights for others. Funny, I started making them for my two daughters who collect diecast trucks. But, here's just a few of them. Sorry some are not Chevys.

It's just a generic nightlight from any big box store and a clear epoxy. The clear diecast vehicle work the best. This is a current car you can find at any store. I got a few from the Kdays event just for these. I made this one for a neighborhood little boy. Please excuse the nasty wall and tile in the background. It's the shop here at work. LOL Dirty Technicians!

What?? Waste these toys on kids???

Mario 72 has come down from Canada the last two years to Carlisle trucks with his family (2 boys) in his cool beans '68 Suburban. The first year I gave each of them the current yellow '83 at the time. Last summer I gave them both the latest '67 Chevy, the yellow one. His older son had the well worn '83 in his pocket. This year I have the yellow '69s that recently came out, but he doesn't think they'll make it down due to the exchange rate making it very costly. I guess I'll have to get his address to send them up!

Re: Pic Thread: Customized Hot Wheels, etc

Thanks man. I seem to buy played with diecast every weekend. My daughters love hunting for them. Finding treasures they say. I have several totes that are waiting to be brought back to life so some kid can enjoy them. I still buy almost every Chevy truck I find new in the package. I just got 30 custom 62's this past weekend from a swap meet vendor. Hard to pass up. Lol!

It's the weekend!:chevy:.....The red one has ppg prizmatique over the base red. The watermelon one has purple anodize fade, I had the watermelon paint left over from a wagon I built for my grand daughter.

One was still in the strip tank in that last picture. Here are two I did with colors I had. The blue I barely had enough to do. It was spittin' and I was rockin' it around to get every last drop. Thankfully it didn't puke out any blotches or the whole deal would have been back in the tank. These are more stock-like paint schemes.. The blue one is a stock truck lowered with custom wheels and the green one has an early-60s custom flair, but in original-like color. The green one has white interior and the blue one has the silver fawn, along with a white grille (obviously) and silver exhaust tips. I'm into details, but on my customs not going all the way at this point. I like to keep them toy-like, pretty much how Hot Wheels does them, but in colors of choice. More "built to suit" than custom. The third one I want to do like the green one in solid color, early-60s custom. I want a custom color, thinking maybe an ice blue metallic or possible a metal flake job
