What did you end up doing for a MC reservoir?

ctdarnell 01-04-2016 09:13 AM

Re: 69 crew duramax build

Ended up moving it down. We could not find a replacement reservoir that held enough fluid and fit the master cylinder ports

Re: 69 crew duramax build

Gauges arrived Friday, Wiring harness is on truck for delivery today (finally)!

Not a lot happened in the last 2 week. Very cold and needed the wiring harness. Hopefully in the next week or so it is mobile under its own power! Then off to body shop

Re: 69 crew duramax build

What gauges did you go with? Did you send the harness to BTdiesels? Trevor

Re: 69 crew duramax build

Re: 69 crew duramax build

Pictures of wiring harness aren't much fun. But here are a couple with head lights done and fuel filler neck/cap. I went with suburban style filler. New trans cooler lines got here yesterday so it can now be mounted and not strapped to bumper. Working on inner fenders also. 1/2 steel 1969. 1/2 plastic 2006

Also if anyone can point me in the direction of a good original tailgate I would appreciate it. Everything I find is junky

Great project and progress. I see you are in Lebanon. I am just down the road toward Rogersville.
This is going to be quite the rig.

Re: 69 crew duramax build

Warm weather means back to work! Inner fenders are a combo 69, 06 and new steel to box in some components

Re: 69 crew duramax build

Just curious
How come you didn't want to cut the bed floor and drop the bed to match the cab? That was the first thing that came to mind, but I'm not there lol :D

ctdarnell 02-18-2016 10:58 AM

Re: 69 crew duramax build

We cut the bed supports down so that the body lines line up. Upper and lower body lines are very close now.

Re: 69 crew duramax build

More good weather means more progress. All trim holes filled. Mirrors mocked up. Seats test fit, rear arm rest will have to go probably. Finished passenger wheel liner. Bed goes to blast and body shop next to get started straightening it out.
