That's still col as heck even if you didn't do it! I don't think I have the patience to do it personally. I'd go broke on ruined paint.

Re: My crewcab 4x4 cummins project

Yeah the original plan was to leave it alone as a long box but long box trucks have always looked funny to me unless there a dually but I ha a dually project an that went away. I also thought about just taking 10" ish out of the front of the long box ...again just didn't want the extra work

Not sure what prices are like down there but I got my engine from a wreckers about 3 hrs from here and the motor has what would be 125 000 miles, got it complete with all accessories , rad ,intercooler all the hoses and wiring harness for 2500 which is a screaming deal. I agree, I originally wanted a duramax for my truck the cost was prohibitive. Then one morning I was strolling through the local craigslist and to my surprise there was a half parted out 93 dodge with 90k on the odo that still had axles and more importantly the cummins..$800 it was at my house. After selling everything else I ended up making a profit, and getting the engine.

Agreed some times a killer deal comes up my buddy got a 92 one ton dually from a farmer that hated the truck with 80k on it for 1500 bucks n did a body swap. Put a rust old Chevy crew cab and a deck on it and called it good... Better for the kids n hauls the quads n camper like nothin said he has 3000 into the truck n drives it regularly

I'm with you guys. I have wanted to do a Dmax swap for a while, but I never seem to find any affordable. And I have plenty of cummins parts, so why switch up?

got a bit more work done the last few days, got the front fenders and inner fenders on...some tweeking to do yet ...damn aftermarket junk... got two new rear doors coming and some misc odds and ends... started fabbing up some steps still have to build the mounts and put tops and the tubes and a final burn in its all just tacked together as of now... also picked up bezels and grill trim off a 76 that i did a test fit on... again damn aftermarket fenders...still have to trim up the front bumper and raise in because of my last minute slight body lift... my blazer tank also showed up and im going to run a tube just behind the diff threw the frame for shock mounts/ tank mount.

WOW!! You got lucky on that buy, In Alaska, there are 2 Cummins for sale on CL at the moment, one is in a truck and it is $3500 and one is just for the motor and it is $3000, u southerners are making me drool!!!

And this build is turning out awesome, love the bumpers! I need to find another crew to go really extreme on!
