Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
So what was the deal with the bug? Chevy Four?
|
Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
The Bug belongs to my Fab guys brother and is converted to front engine. Not a v8 but a lot of Fab. work for little Chevy. But still better than all these new Camaros in every get together. Then the 2 millionth Camaro.

I did what I could for bodywork then had the guys at Super Strips finish. I did the fill welds and stripping the truck. Was pretty rust free and minor dents except the cab near the gas cap where the the bed hit.

Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
I was just checking on your build to see if you ever got your porterbuilt member on. Then I see your last post and there it is. Nice!!!!!! When do you think you will have it on? Keep us informed and shoot us some pics. I've been following your build for a while as I have a similar build planned. I know you have bags in back, are you using bags or springs in front, and how much lower or you trying to get?
Also do you plan on putting salt flats on the front at some point? |

Blue looks good!

Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
Monte, I have CPP Big brake kit with 2" drop spindles coming soooooon. Ordered July 1 now they are on the way. I am going to get bags for front and set it on 245/40/18 Salt Flats. I had a '81 c10 that dragged the headers and A-arms so this one gets anti-speed bump air.
Parts list is getting shorter and the $$$ spent is beyond budget... lost long ago. Now this part is done I can get the rack and brake master and column. I like to drive mine so til all parts are in I don't plan on tear down then it will be a mad thrash. Still want to take cab off frame during down time. Last of body work and then paint. Need work to steady out before dropping the hammer. https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.n..._4825771_n.jpg |

Went to Iowa State Fair after visiting family. Was driving these A and B's on the farm before I got drivers permit at 12. Love the "Farm" excuse to drive.

Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
Chart shows I am dialed in at 28" tall tire and 3.73 plus overdrive. Chart for those who have to ask without looking for it. I have used Adams Driveline for all manual gearbox and axle related service, shortening, custom, etc.

Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
I have a question, are the head light bezel steel that are chromed or aluminum.
|
Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build
Original steel chromed. The grill was factory painted, straightened and chrome plated. Originally 283 3 on tree no extras. One mirror, one sun visor, one door lock, one paint color... orange.
