Thanks for the info. I probably would have removed the windshield. I can see what you mean by bringing in the side to match the tops of the doors in the new pictures. Did you drill the spot welds and remover the lower part of the drill rail that is inside the top of the door frame or leave it in?

Oh yea one more question. How did you get your lady to work on your truck? That is quality!! HAHA

Later

haha.shes been helping me with cars, trucks, motorcycles, snowmobiles since day one.lucky catch i guess.
as for the drip rails i didnt drill any spot welds.just took out about a 1/2 inch or a little less section then brought the outer edge in to meet the inner.

well next will hopefully be finish stripping, priming, painting the rear half of the frame then install front suspension.i say hopefully because im doing the frame in my drive way and we are on day number 22 of rain so its a major holdup on the build.i got my rear end ready to come home tomorrow and ordered a 444c compressor/pressure switch/4 cross drilled rotors and ceramic brake pads last night.also have my new control arms and brackets almost complete so the rear suspension should be mocked up in place real soon.i will keep you guys updated

love the comments.good to see the fan following.my views are getting up there.so im now back at the interior.yesterday i welded in some tabs to mount the console, some studs for wire mounts, hammered out some warping on the dash, and spread/blocked some fill.back at it for an hour today i did some more blocking and shaping, and laid some fiberglass where the new cluster is mounting to the old dash.so far so good.i should have some pics tomorrow.

its something new i bought.i laid down a coat of epoxy then hammered 2 heavy heavy coats of the black highbuild.i have used a lot of highbuilds in the past but this is by far the thickest.like glaze putty in a spray gun.i will find out the brand tomorrow.

Re: Project...praise the lowered

so the black highbuild is a different primer than the epoxy you used?

yup.the epoxy was white and the highbuild black.its called Bernardo Ecenarro 2k acrylic high build filler.i had to go with this instead of the usual stuff because the shop i buy from was switching everything to water bourne .

update on progress....heres the pics of the dash work.shows the fiberglass method i used to bond the new cluster to the old dash, then the fill and the start of shaping.just ran out of time tonight.i came home to some goodies waiting at my door.my rotors and pads.i mocked the rear ones up to the fresh blasted/painted/shaved rear end.looks great.im also going to include the mounts i fabbed for the rear trailing arms.they are going to mount in the location where the front leaf spring mounts were.just bolt in place.i also spaced them perfectly from the frame to end up mounting to the rear end where the leaf springs and u bolts mount.need some nice weather to set my wheel base/pinion angle and where the bags will mount.

Yer keepin' her a 6 lug! :metal: Sweet! Let me know when you get it all back together or if you already know how much of a difference it changes your spacing from stock. This is an upgrade i'd love to do in the future, but want to keep my stock wheel spacing. Also what brand or kit did you go with? Sorry for so many questions. Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks,
