I'm interested.

Have you done a set (Tail and backup lights) for a '72 Blazer/Truck?

Most definately, that's my "bread and butter" setup. I've probably done 15 trucks worth now.

How do you mount them when you get them

They are tight fit inside the lense. Between the snugness of the lense and the coiled wiring pigtail, it is held in place. This pic will give you an idea.

Re: For sale: Hand-Made Custom LED Brake lights.

Not yet, but i probably could!!! I did a pair of brake/reverse lights for 68c-10 70's AMC gremlin :) The reverse lights were integrated into the brakes. I would have to have you send me the lenses housing setup so that i could size them to fit. Custom jobs like that would require upfront payment too.

I would also like a set for a '71 fleetside. So front turn signals and rear brake lights and reverse lights. Let me know how much and how best to pay. Thanks.

Do you have the part # for the flasher?

Re: For sale: Hand-Made Custom LED Brake lights.

I've been told that these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-PIN...spagenameZWDVW
will work. After looking at the item description, i believe they should work. Let me know if you have any other problems. Try finding a "no-load" flasher. These should do the job as well. I should probably start buying these off ebay and keeping them in stock so you guys dont have to buy them off ebay.....hmmm

hey, i saw something on the road that i liked, maybe you could make mine this way. it was a new model Audi A6 wagon, and the way the lights worked was that the running lights were around the perimeter only, then the brake lights were the entire fill. i'll see if i can find a pic. they looked real nice...

edit: here's one with them all lit up http://cap.aslinternet.com/images/51...6_avant_05.jpg

Yea i could make the outer ring all the way around come on with the headlights, and then everything else come on with the brakes/turns. Let me know your final decision because you're next in line. Since its custom, I'll have to have upfront payment.

how much would it be for the caddy style?

cstanley 02-23-2008 09:45 PM

Re: For sale: Hand-Made Custom LED Brake lights.

In your opinion, do you think they would be bright enough with just the outer perimeter as running lights? If so, pm me your mailing addy and i'll have the bank send you the money. Otherwise, the standard ones would work. everyone likes to be different, eh?

Oh, one other thing I don't understand: When the brakes come on, are the running light dual-brightness and then light up brighter? or are they all the same brightness and then more of them light up with brakes?

the only time a running light is really on is at night, so yeah it should be plenty bright

The outer ring would only be on with your headlights at night, but any time you use the turn signal or hit the brakes the black area would light up. Something like this?? I'm just trying to get an idea for what you're looking for. The ring wouldn't be quite as bright because of strength in numbers, but since it would only be used at night time, it would still contrast with the night well. Is this what you're thinking of?

BTW: Curbstone Mechanic and CStanley are the next two in line. I'm only doing two sets at a time. Any more and I'm afraid I wont be able to keep it in order.

The only thing that I think could be a problem is that they need to be visible 300 yards from the vehicle at night for DOT

yeah, I think I like the caddy style better. The audi ones don't seem to translate very well. What's the design for your typicals? I don't remember seeing that.

Got mine yesterday. Thanks Justin, they look great. I'm going to put them on this weekend. I'll post pics. I got a full set for a '71 Blazer, minus the side marker lights. I might do those later... 8^>

I also picked up some Hella halogen headlights and I'm going to do the headlight relay mod. Should have the beast glowing by Sunday night!
