67_C-30 thanks for posting that green 68 4x4, that is what I have envisioned for my finished project to look like after I combine the best parts from my 3 trucks together and paint it. Nice to have a visual to show my wife so she can understand! It became my new wallpaper on my laptop! Good motivation everytime I get on now!

67_C30, does someone on the board own that dark green and white Highlander you posted or is that something you found on the internets? It looks like mine but with buckets.

That thing is tough as nails ain't it?! Those 3/4 tons look all business, especially in stock form. That one, Sicklajoie's, and several others on this thread has me REALLY wanting one!

Except for the aluminum topper. This is how it looked when I bought it.

I just wish I had the 3/4 ton chassis, I'm building mine on a 69 K/10 I just picked up, not saying it won't get 8 lugs down the road!

Thanks for the compliment. ;)
All I've ever had were 2 wheel drive 3/4 tons...
86 C/20, 99 C2500, 03 Sierra 2500, and now the 69'er.

Here's mine on a recent camping trip. It was repainted in the original colors back in 92 by the PO, and I just put in an HEI. I'm probably going to redo the seats soon, because the foam is gone too soft. Wish I could keep the plaid but it's got some holes in the driver's side vinyl and some dry rot on the pass side seat back. Probably go green/houndstooth and black door panels/visors.

Not sure if you're aware or not but there's a place in Washington I believe that reproduces the Highlander Plaid fabric. It's called SMS auto fabrics, do a google search and you'll find them. They'll send you a free swatch of the material so you can match it up. I'd hate to see a highlander truck get converted to a non; I'm building mine to be a 72 SWB K10 highlander (even though that was never available) I just love how the plaid looks, and with a blank slate frame off project, why not!

I'll look into SMS. I still haven't decided what to do. The wife definitely likes the plaid, and it's definitely grown on me. I was thinking about just repairing the vinyl. There's only a few 4 inch rips on the drivers side. I'm worried that it will rip more though when I try to stretch it over new foam. Thanks for the info.

The Highlander plaid seats is one those things that if wasn't what it was, there's no way I would have it. That being said, if I had a real Highlander, there's no way I wouldn't have it. (If that makes sense:crazy:)

Great photos 67 C-30. The contrast between the 2 green 67 GMC's is amazing( one 3/4 ton other 1/2 ton ). The difference between a pickup truck and a pickup.
