The truck got put on the back burner once again,,,back into it once again though.....I just shot the bed in with color and clear today...I'll post pics tomorrow when it's dry enough to bring out and mate it to the frame.

Thanks for everyone's interest in my project.....I'll have more pictures to post as I expect to be devoting more of my time to the build now.... I managed to mate the bed to the rest of the truck today...I plan on painting the inside of the bed at a later time.....Plans are to paint the tailgate and hood next.....the wheels on the truck are just temporary

Re: 1973 Gmc Cab Rebuild

It looks awesome! You need some 16.5x9.75 steelies on it with stock caps!

Edit: It looks like it wad some on it at one time.

Also is that a 2 1/2" lift?

evowerks 09-16-2012 10:16 PM

Re: 1973 Gmc Cab Rebuild

Thanks.....haven't made a decision on the rims yet...definitely going with 10" wide though.....lift is a 3" Tuff Country, springs, no blocks.

Re: 1973 Gmc Cab Rebuild

Or you could go with some Wheel Vintiques 16" x 10"s if you don't want to deal with finding 16.5 tires. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=133

oops. It said it didn't post, "server too busy".

Re: 1973 Gmc Cab Rebuild

Great link for the steelies...I know that I don't want 16.5s because of limited tire selection...16's would work though...if I decide to go this direction I'll have to keep my eyes open for stock caps.

You can still find these, even though they are difficult to find. BTW, a very very nice truck. Hope you have your original tailgate molding.

Working on purchasing parts for the engine. After the island gets back to normal from the hurricane. I'll be back into the project again.

A quick shot of the beginnings of my carb set up, carbs will be rebuilt as soon as I receive the final carb. UPS service is a little jambed up here.

Before and after pics of the radiator support that I had to rebuild.
I planned on using the new repro shown, but thanks to goodmark's lack of quality, I had to scavenge the bottom section from the new one to fix the old. The mounting holes were close to 1 inch off on the goodmark piece!!

Did the lower bed side patch give you any issues? I'm in the middle of installing the same patch on my truck and the patch doesn't fit right the inner edge that goes into the wheel well sticks out further than the original metal and i'm not sure what to do about it
