Ok guys... Here's the updated pics of the production Dropmember Rear.

- Bolt-in notch with integrated bridge (available to lay frame from 26" to 32" tire diameters; designed for a 5" ride height)

-Sleeved bags mounted over the axle for increased stability and ride quality.

- Bolt-on arallel four-link with panhard bar (axle plunges .625" from ride height to dump; axle shifts lateraly .375 inches from ride height to dump)

-Carrier bearing crossmember (allows the use of two-piece drive-shaft, eliminating cab tunneling)

I've got a question about that carrier bearing x-member. The stock xmember bolts(rivets if you havent taken it off) to the top and bottom rails with (off the top of my head) about 20 bolts, and also has a reinforcing plate for the bottom rail. Your xmember bolts to the side rails with a total of 4 bolts. Are we losing any rigidity of the frame because the top and bottom rails are not tied together? Seems like the frame would twist a lot more especially since the closest xmember behind it is at the bridge.

Also, will that carrier bearing fit the stock driveshaft? If so, where did it come from.

Thanks nate,
Josh

The chassis pictured had the factory trailing arm crossmember removed. There will be a crossmember to replace the factory trailing arm crossmember installed when the chassis is complete. This carrier bearing crossmember is designed to be used in conjunction with a modified factory trailing arm crossmember, or an ECE drop trailing arm crossmember.

The carrier bearing is a factory replacement for a 71-72 LWB C10 truck.

Swanky! What mods would need to be done to a stock t-arm crossmember? Flatten the bottom? Are the axle brackets weld-on?

Looks

Correct, the trailing arm crossmember needs to be pankaced, and the upper loop needs to be raised slightly. There will be a PB tubular crossmember for this in the near future (with a couple other cool features).

Currenlty the design features a bracket that welds to the axle tube and then the rest of the pieces bolt to it. That is the only piece of the entire kit that needs to be welded upon installation.

Will the empire drive line billet carrier bearing work on the crossmember?

Do you by chance have a dimensionon the mounting hole spread? If so, I can verify, and modify the mounting pad if necessary. I am assuming a generic mounting dimension isused... but that would make life too easy!

The carrier bearing crossmember can be moved up,down, forward or back to accomodate different configurations.

On the crossmember, it may be a few weeks until I have a chance to actually build it. The design is done, but I am just way behind right now on getting a number of these rear kits out.:waah:

Just wondering are you going to sell the 4-link separate from notch if someone wanted?

I will offer it seperately (don't have a price yet), but the axle brackets would be a different design. They would be a standard weld-on bracket.

So this kit now is designed specifically to work with a 4 link and not with the factory trailing arms, correct?
