grinded down the fiberglass and got a rough shape, now the dyna-glass goes down to smooth it up a bit before the plastic, but the cold got to me before i could get much sanding done :chevy:

ah haha! thanx cheese! so far so good! i have a question, what is the highest grit i can go on the lense for clear to stick to them? and my truck used to have molding under the tailights, and theres 2 holes, i was unsure of how to weld this? whats the best way, i cant reach it from behind and i dont know what else to do, its the only thing keeping me from bondo! they're almost done!! got the stake pockets all shaved on one side, almost ready to start the other side!

Re: 1987 Chevy Silverado project

haha, dont worry, everyone that sees or hears about what im doing asks the same thing, i had to cut a panel in the bed to glue the lense from the back, and i will weld hinges to it, and use some quick twist fasteners like the drag cars have

I asked jason and this is waht he said!!

"he finishes out with 500 gritt and water, then tapes it off in the desired size and sprays the base. Then peels tape and sprays the clear."

In order to get to the hole under the tail lamp, they use a long flat brass piece, to reach up inside to the backside of the hole, then weld em up. Be sure to wear a glove when holding the brass piece!

sweet! thanx! helps alot! i have them almost finished up! need to fill the srew holes still, and a little bondo, but i have to work the rest of the week and i wont be able to work on it so i put some primer so it wont rust, but heres some pics!

i also got into a fender bender, luckily i unbolted the bottom bumper bolts to fold it down and sand the bottom of the tails, cause after i got hit from the behind the bumper just folded down! no damage besides the paint on fender, chrome trim is bent, and small dent on fender from side swiping another car, (shoulda seen his! destroyed!!) im glad i drive a good ol piece of american iron! :D
