Wish I'd have gotten to meet you! My brother said you're a friend of his. I brought my son and his friend out to watch Sanders' funny car, Mark, Billy Goat and Eric Peterson run and had a blast.
Longest trip so far! 12 mile round trip with no tickets, nothing fell off and nobody had to get out and push. I had my son drive it in to the pits and he thought it was cool getting the thumbs up and seeing people pointing and taking pictures of the truck. Now to fix all the rattles. This thing is loud inside.

The last wheel cylinder finally gave up the ghost. I pulled the axle, the drum, replaced the bad part, cleaned the shoes, repacked the wheel bearings and put it all back together in an hour and a half. Now that I'm good at it there's no more to replace.
Drove it out to Pacific Raceways again last weekend. The truck seems to be popular with drunken race fans. So far I've put over 200 miles on the truck and I've taken care of one rattle at a time. New window channel and fuzzies made a huge difference and I took off the mirror extenders that only seemed to be useful for collecting leaves and branches on the driveway. I sanded more of the mill scale off the hot rolled steel on the bumpers. I cursed myself the whole time for not having the patience when I built it to wait and get cold rolled plate. Next time. Then I D.A.'d it and reapplied Penetrol.
Next up is making some headway on the unfinished rear fenders and running boards.

Impressive! I wish I had the room for such a vehicle, the virtual build in my head is similar to yours. You've really done an outstanding job all across the board on this truck, sit back, drive and enjoy!

Man I love this thing. I keep contemplating selling my C60 but then I see stuff like this and it makes we want to keep it and build it.

Thanks!
I'm having fun driving it, not so much filling it up. I'm hoping to put a USGear overdrive in it that I've had sitting in the shop forever. It came off a th400 but has a 27 spline female input and I didn't get the coupler that made it work. I pulled it apart and I'll either have the shaft resplined or I'll mount it completely separate from the transmission and connect it with two yokes and a u-joint. I also bought another truck. '70 C50. I couldn't pass on it but I don't think I can use anything on it so I'm probably selling it as is. It runs and drives. 350, 4 speed, two speed rear. I drove it over an hour home and everything works, I just don't need another project/liability.
