Thanks guys, I haven't done much since we put the cab on the frame. When it cools off a little bit, I will mock the bed up, install the Doug Nash Overdrive unit, and get the exhaust and driveshaft built.

I started sealing my bed wood today. My plan is to paint it black and ii will have stainless strips and bolts.

The wood looks really good. Looking forward to seeing the finished results in your bed.

I say trim rings too. I've always liked that look better than no rings.

I've somehow missed the last couple updates here. I also am thinking black painted bedwood and stainless hardware for mine. Looks great! Hard to say on the rings. See what they look like on the truck.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I hope to finish painting the bed wood this weekend. The Trim rings rill have to be a decision made after the wheels are painted and have tires mounted.

Re: '68 COPO Concept - Vulgar Display of Power

no trim rings. caps only gives a nice base model inline 6 feel. if it were for show purposes only, rings all the way. but no rings gives it that street brawler undercover feel.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm in the process of buying and selling houses so the only progress has been a decent inventory of the parts I have on the shelf.(I have enough parts to build two trucks, minus the 2nd cab!)

The good news is that the house I'm planning to buy already has a shop! More to come...

What happened to the one on the bayou that you were going to have to build a shop? What size shop does this one have?

Here is a thought for you on the whole wheel thing...

I bought an old set of 6 lug 3 nub wheels and cut the centers out of them and welded them into a set of Speedway 15x14 steel hoops. I am also using the chrome hubcaps as well as the trim rings. They have a custom spacing so that everything fits without narrowing the axle. I am going to run some MT 31x16x15's on the back, I believe those would go a long way towards handling that 427.

I believe that it is post 23 or 24 in my build thread if you want to check them out....

Well...within a few hours after I was talking to you, we found out about a house that was For Sale by Owner. It's in the same area and has a 24x30 shop already (To be expanded to 24x60).

We decided that being on the bayou wasn't worth $100k extra to us, and luckily we were in the 10 day "oh &@$!" Grace period on the contract on the other house!

I'm digging your build plan and those renderings sure turn the dreams into a realistic vision! Wheel choices are still one of my big challenges.

Re: '68 COPO Concept - Vulgar Display of Power

Well, since my last post there has been a lot of "water under the bridge", as they say. We moved into a new house in November 2015 which had a 24x30 detached garage that is my shop. As we went through the holidays we were getting settled in pretty well. I was getting my shop set up to house all of my tools, parts, and truck.

Then on March 8 we began getting torrential rains which resulted in over 24" of rain in 36 hours! Our new house flooded, along with my shop. After much help from friends and a 3 month repair of the house, we are finally settling back in.

Thanks to some of the best friends that I've ever had, 3 are members here, my engine and trans for the truck were pulled and gone through to ensure that there was no water damage. Finally yesterday, I cleaned all of the film off of the chassis of the truck and will begin reinstalling engine, trans, overdrive unit within the month. I will post more updates here as things progress.
