Mike, what is the color you have settled on? I have seen a few really cool blues here lately, just curious what you are using.

Just found this thread. WOW is all I can say for now. Looks killer. Those 345's on all corners is impressive. What are your wheel specs to get them to fit and turn?

They are 19x12 Forgeline RB3Cs with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in 345/30R19 fitment. I forget the exact offset right now but we've done a fair amount of modifications to the front fenders to get the wide stance.

I think we are going to go with BMW Laguna Seca Blue. Its a pretty wild looking color on the 2001-2006 (E46) M3s...some call it smurf blue. My hopes are it looks period correct and modern at the same time ;)

We still haven't settled on a white to go with it yet. The original white on the squarebodys seems to be a warm white which may not go well with this blue.

Check out the white diamond on the new Kia Optima. It sounds lame, but the pearl in it is pretty fine and it is a cool color. If you are looking, check out the blue on the new Hyundai Veloster. It is a clean looking bright blue. We recently fixed a 2013 Challenger that had a nice bright blue as well.

I will definitely check all these colors out. Other blues that have been under consideration are Indian Turquoise (off '59 trucks), grabber blue off the new mustang, and a few different special order blues from newer Porsches. I'm trying to avoid any metallic colors.

It looks so good in primer black with those gold wheels that I also have thoughts about going pure black (like n2trux). It might look a little bit Smokey and the Bandit, not that that's a bad thing :D

Re: Project Cannonball C10

It would certainly go with the cannonball theme. Ford Fusion YZ is a good bright white.

I like black with the wheels too. Hard to go wrong with that.

I'm not feeling the two tone but its your truck and I'm lovin the concept.

Black & white 2-tone? Classic scheme. Classic colors. Black.
Classic looks w/updated structure will still be classic 20yrs from now....

Re: Project Cannonball C10

If we go black it will be ALL black. If we go blue then it will be two tone with just white along the center; I believe GM called this the "Special Two Tone".

Now I want to build a Bandit Trans Am inspired square. Great! Thanks for putting that into my head! Might look kinda cool in black with gold pinstripes and gold wheels, maybe the 17x9 snowflakes that Year One has. Hummmm :metal:

I was on board until the Snowflakes...

77esq.... All black w/the gold stripe trim & those Forgelines would rock.

Looks like you could take that whole concave part of the fender and cut it out, flip it, and weld it back in, to give it the look and the clearance that the glove box lid seems to be giving it.

Its a Roadster Shop custom chassis. They have been great guys to work with and understood my vision right from the start. I based this build heavily off of their orange and white '70 shop truck (http://roadstershop.com/galleries/1970-c-10-pick-up/). They found a local '74 square and brought it in for measurements, then their engineer set it up for the LS3/TR6060 combo and my desired ride height and tire combos. They also switched up the rear crossmember with a hidden hitch and supplied us with a trick battery box.

There is tons of info on their website: http://roadstershop.com/chassis/1967-72-c-10/

One of the guys at the shop is dying to flare the fenders. Perhaps classic 80's german sedan box flares...

Re: Project Cannonball C10

I was thinking the same thing. Kinda M3 style. Hmmmm. Too late now, 'cause then you'd have to push the wheels out to fill them out, and you all have done a beautiful job getting them sucked in. It'd be cool, though!
