Definitely going to have some memories that last a lifetime! My favorite memories of my father and I when I was a teenager were us working together side by side on the 57 Chevy truck he have me when I turned 16. How fortunate for you and your son to be able to build this project together! I can't wait until my daughters and son are old enough!

Nate

A really cool thing is because my house has a steep driveway we will be doing a lot of the deconstruction at my folks house which means my Pop will be there to lend a hand too. 3 generations getting their hands dirty! :metal: And more importantly, 3 generations taking turns driving out rivets!

Plan is starting to come together, we'll hopefully have some of these parts, except with trailing arms, in 6 to 8 weeks! Photo courtesy of Porterbuilt. :metal:

Thanks, it's a good thing there are so many high quality builds on this board because we are going to be slow going so you'll have plenty of cool stuff to check out while we chug along.

I've missed a bunch! Sold a beauty & replaced it with another. Your son is a lucky kid. Looking forward to following along. :metal:

Based on the measurements I took off the truck as is, using Nate's point of reference, it should be very close to a 5/7. The big advantages will be ground clearance, ability to tune the ride, and rack-n-pinion steering. And you know the built-in geometry will make it handle!!

He's a good kid, he works hard at school, percussion, and taekwondo so I am excited to give him a cool ride.

Nope, it's going to be a while yet. It looks like the PB parts won't show up until the middle March so I'd like to keep it mobile until then. Luckily there are plenty of other builds to watch until then!:metal:

Re: Project: Shiro

I'm thinking about putting lower trim on this truck to break up the plethora of white. With the addition of a Porterbuilt suspension and late model drivetrain adding the trim won’t be a big deal. The kit from Mar-K with black accent looks pretty nice. What do you all think?
